Paysite owners: when you have a new site...

when you have a new site does it take a while before the sales come in, or do sales usually come in right away?

I mean do surfers usually need to see something over and over and over again before they finally buy, or do they just see something once and buy right away?

I have a new site and its gotten about 3,000 page views and 75 clicks to the signup page, but no sales.

I dont know if this means they dont like my site or they need to see it more before they buy to trust it, or something.

75 clicks to join? you need more traffic

so 3,000 tour hits and 75 join hits isnt enough to judge it yet?
I should give it more time and more traffic?
I just started promoting it a week ago.

JD 03-08-2006 10:50 PM

keep on keepin on man. more traffic!

edit: might want to work on your ctr as well

Give it more time man, and need traffic too

BIGTYMER 03-08-2006 11:16 PM

Give it a little more time.

SirMoby 03-08-2006 11:25 PM

You do need to give it more time. 3,000 page views could be a lot of traffic if it's very targeted from a very specific niche source but if it's 3,000 page views coming from a misleading banner or blind link then it's nothing.

Do you send out a message to your affiliates? maybe they just dont know

CuriousToyBoy 03-08-2006 11:37 PM

We Beta-test EVERY site here at http://www.LionDollars.com with LOTS of our own traffic and tweak and make changes and improve BEFORE we release to affiliates.

That way we KNOW they work on general release and we do not have affiliates wasting traffic on lemons.

How much traffic ?

A LOT more than 3000 uniques.. more like 100k unqiues generally (more if early results require changes be made) - our testing is statistically significant.

Unlike Microsoft, we test first and release for sale second.

;-)

sweetpiece 03-08-2006 11:54 PM

only 75 people out of 3000 went to the join page? am i the only one that finds this unusual? my site is getting a little less than 3k these days actually and 700+ to the join page daily

you might want to do something about your tour, i think if so few people are going to the join page there's gotta be something unappealing about your tour

tony286 03-08-2006 11:58 PM

need more traffic and it also depends if you have stream of traffic already to match the theme of the site.

It never ceases to amaze me how completely fucking rude some people on here can be. I guess everyone except me was born knowing how to do this shit, or they inherited it from their Grandfather's estate. Jeezus dude, everyone has to start someplace and I quite frankly pisses me off to see so much noob bashing.

I would like for one person to explain to me the value in bashing a guy for asking a simple question.. just one decent reason and I will never mention this again.

Why do some of you people fear new blood so much that you have to lash out at every opportunity?

Thank you !

Comes from starting in this biz as an affiiate just like everyone else......

Just try and be as close to the type of sponsor I wish I had when I started out.

:2 cents:

You'll need a LOT more than 3k join page hits. Also from the sounds of it, you need a tour tweak. Your CTR is very poor.

Keep working at it! Maybe you can give us a URL so we can give you some constructive criticism.

the only thing i dont like about questions like this is that it appears like the guy didn't research much before starting his site. maybe it's because of my immense fear of rejection ever since i had a crush on elliot in preschool, but i looked into everything i could think of before i even started taking content. promotion, photography, affiliate tools and tried to learn what to expect. not to say this guy hasn't, but i wouldnt have asked a question like this and neither would most people that try to prepare as much as possible before even getting started. that shows commitment and stability 2 me

PinkElectric 03-09-2006 12:31 AM

Your tour need some tweaking!! Good luck!! :)))

PussyTeenies 03-09-2006 02:11 AM

And that strategy might work well for you, but what I wish that people on here would embrace is the idea that not everyone does it that way. Some people are motivated by stability in the knowledge that they have researched and read and learned as much as possible before they begin an undertaking and others are equally motivated by the "get in there and do it" mindset. Neither is the right or wrong way. They are just different.

There is no need to lambast people because they choose to put the cart before the horse.

Everyone learns at their own pace and in their own way. Let's support people not kick them in the teeth because they don;t do it exactly like we did.

chodadog 03-09-2006 08:37 AM

Like others have said, there's definitley room for improvement with your tour to join page CTR. If it's blind traffic, then i guess it's probably not so bad, but if it's traffic that's been sent from a gallery or banner, then 75 clicks to your join page is pretty awful and there's definitely something that can be improved on the tour.

sfera 03-09-2006 08:38 AM

new thousands of traffic

crockett 03-09-2006 08:49 AM

If you don't have a good quality source of traffic on what ever niche it is, maybe try sending it some trafffic from adwords.
