the song was catchy and it kept stores sold out for months and months after the song. Pop meaning popular is about conformity and this is nothing more than a good example of its power. Air Force Ones became the new swatch watch, being from Europe you may not understand what that means, but anyone from the US who was alive in the 80's probably remembers how many people were trying to collect colors and color combinations.
