depends on how private the party is...you did say everyone so i would take the hot chick on a table scheme.....( I threw in the hot chick part notice, works)

I tap a glass using a bread knife to get the people's attention, then I start talking

I would ask to tune down the music and get everybody's attention by clapping my hands and talk loud.
