I'll put money that all the votes for intel are from people that have prebuilt instore computers or laptops.

G-Rotica 03-06-2006 01:15 PM

Dagwolf 03-06-2006 01:23 PM

Just finished putting together my Intel System a month ago. I've never seen an AMD that didn't have problems after the 1st few months.

I got the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.78 overclocked to 4.2.

It's fast.

This is what I put together:
--------------------------------
P4 3.78 EE
Thermaltake Big Water Cooling System
Thermaltake Gandalf Case
eVGA 7800 GTX KO 256MB
2 Gig 1000mhz Corsair RAM
ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe
2 x 74 gig WD Raptors 10K RPM in raid
WD 400 gig SE16
Plextor 740A DVD Burner
HP 740i DVD with LightScribe
Creative XFi Platinum
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speakers
Logitech G7 Wireless Mouse
Logitech G15 Keyboard

2nd: 7800GTX for SLI on the way

Jarmusch 03-06-2006 04:30 PM

Validus 03-06-2006 04:57 PM

I think I will build a Dual Xeon next... as a workstation. I am still sceptical about the 64 bit thing... and compatibility...

I am using Intel here. Works well for me. :thumbsup

For my desktop I run an AMD Athlon 64 4000+

For the video encoding machine, I run Dual AMD Opterons

gecko 03-07-2006 10:45 AM

All my CPUs are made by intel

Vitasoy 03-08-2006 12:10 AM

Majority of my pc's are intel based

BadBrad 03-08-2006 12:18 AM

AMD all the way. Even run 4-way dual core server's with them. They are the best in server and workstation. And anyone that thinks Intel is faster should actually understand how processor's work first.
