T3 Connection qusetion. If you got it or know anything about it help out.
Ok. We're thinking of getting a T3 setup for some of our server needs, however I'm a bit confused as to how it works.
I understand a 45MBps connection can run anywhere from $2k-$15k/month, which is fine, but I'm not sure how the bandwidth is measured. For example, if I wanted say 500 TB/month of transfer, would that be included with the price or do I still have to pay per/GB on top of the monthly charges. Thanks, Luc L. |
every t1 or t3 I have seen or worked with you are just paying for the speed not the amount of bandwidth you push. I could be wrong if things have changed in the past 3 years

Are you going to put it in your moms house in the basement?
Maybe goto sears and buy a craftsman backup generator? Better watch out for the LAPD, if you have a hot room they will come busting down your door at 2am. Seriously. fuckers did it to me. oh, but it was my house, not my moms. bitchez |
You are paying for 45 mbps up and down.. that is yours to use, all of it.
|
ok. welcome to ignore mr. dumbass.

a T3 wouldn't even be able to push anywhere near 500 TB of data a month, more like 14 TB
|
If you buy a full DS3 you get 45Mbps up and down uncapped. You don't pay per GB you pay per Mbps. 1Mbps is approx. 300GB.
