Drake 03-05-2006 07:05 PM

Is the academy awards the same as the oscars? Haven't watched that stuff in years.

KRL 03-05-2006 07:08 PM

I like the part when they show everyone who died this year.

Platinum Lantern 03-05-2006 07:53 PM

It will get better when 3-6 Mafia performs

reynold 03-06-2006 03:35 AM

not enough head to head rivalry between the best picture nominees

Vitasoy 03-06-2006 04:54 AM

Good thing I didn't watch it :)

Bansheelinks 03-06-2006 05:32 AM

The Oscars needed Scarlett Johansson to be there; she was nowhere in sight!

Here's the pics of her being felt up at the Golden Globes, as that gay fashion designer grabbed her left tit & got away with it because he was gay & a 'non-threat':

Awards shows are dull. I have zero interest in watching the acting community sitting around patting eachother on the back telling themselves what a wonderful bunch of people they are and what a great job they're doing.

reed_4 03-06-2006 05:45 AM

that sucks to hear man. I hope they learned their lesson and see to it that the next Academy awards will be better.

I hope so as well, didn't even finish wayching it ,done something constructive instead, went to bed:1orglaugh

Sarah_Jayne 03-06-2006 07:01 AM

I hated the band playing when they spoke. However, just be happy you didn't have the UK coverage. It used to be good when the BBC showed it but for the last two years it has been on Sky and their coverage is just so crap. Not to mention it doesn't start until 1am here.

However, I am a sucker for film so I always watch it and pretty much always will. In a change from last year I had actually seen every film up for best picture.

Funbrunette 03-06-2006 07:46 AM

I only tuned in for a few min I didn't get into it this year...It's been better! :2 cents:

Kassidy 03-06-2006 09:25 AM

I absolutely love Jon Stewart but this awards show wasn't his element in which to shine. He needs to stick to the political stuff on the network that lets him say the f-word.

TreasureBucks 03-06-2006 09:25 AM

I only watched the first 30 minutes or so... The Jon Stewart monologue, Ben Stiller LOL... then after Dolly sang, i lost interest, and click....

really, you dont like Stewart??

Im addicted to the daily show.

SykkBoy 03-06-2006 10:23 AM

The director should be shot
That was some of the worst directing since Ed Wood. Truly terrible.

Stewart did ok, but like Chris Rock last year, seemed neutered and seemed to play it safe which is boring. There were also way too many montages. What was with cutting off the Best Picture speech? A bunch of boring, useless montages and Lauren Bacall stumbling over her words like a retarded 3rd grader in a school play and they cut off the final speech.

Also, what was up with only 3 nominations for best song?

I did like the fact that they paid attention to smaller films this year. While Crash was far from the Best Movie of 2005, it was the only surprise of the night. Everyone was waiting for the stage to be filled with gay cowboys and it just wasn't to be...

oh yeah, and Go Howard Berger! I'm glad he got the win for best makeup...

Raven 03-06-2006 10:30 AM

Crash might not have been the best in the traditional sense, but it certainly was very different. For that alone, I'm glad it won.

LAJ 03-06-2006 10:31 AM

I thought Lauren Bacall was having a stroke right there up on the stage.
