need a phone gadget for the computer...
you guys know of anything where you can plug a phone into your computer so you hear through the speakers when it rings? hehe
I mean, I'm usually working with my headphones on at the office to be able to concentrate to my fullest, but I can`t hear the damn phone when it rings.. anyone know of something that`d solve the problem, other than taking my headphones off ;) |
Don't know, but heres a little trick for recording phone calls on your computer ;)
Get a old phone Get a old microphone Open up old phone, and on the receiving part (the part you listen too) snip the two wires that lead into it. Take the plastic off, and twist the end. Then snip te microphone end off, leaving the other end plugged in your computer, seperate the two wireres inside there, and connect them to the phone wires you just snipped. there ya go, a+++ quality recording ;) |

there are so many suggestions and comments that are incorrect that I do not have time to go into them all, but the legit suggestion was to attach a lamp to your phone. Another suggestion would buy an external ringer that plugs in series with your phone.
Another idea would be to keep your feet on a wet towel. Half-tap two wires onto the tip and ring side of your phone jack, and then attach the bare ends to your nutsack with electrodes. That way, everytime ringing generator applies the -120vDc you will know it right away, and will likely answer your phone on the first ring, every time :1orglaugh |
there's some software that shows you incoming calls when your phoneline is plugged into the modem :winkwink:
|
there's already that green backlit display and that red light that goes on when it rings... I'm just always too concentrated, and the phone is on diagonal, not in my near display..
you guys know where I could find some of those things I can hookup on series to the phone, like a police gyroscope or something LOL :) |
You got a disabled persons association or similar nearby?
They sell mini strobe lights that hearing impaired people can attatch to the phone, I'm sure you'd notice that going off. |
