I used to like buying cd's. But then my wife bought me an ipod.

I never gave ipod a chance....until i got one, and itunes is easy to use.
You only pay for the songs you want.

Im an amateur musician, i dont make any money at it LOL, but I let people download my mp3's for free. Hell, Im just happy someones listening to my music. I could easily sell my own songs on my site if I chose to... and so could a popular band.

Bands are still gonna get paid. Record companies take most of the money though.

The record company is a middle man... sort of a pimp really. They take most of your money. Just like a pimp owns a corner becuase he's steet wise and people fear him. A record company pimps out musicians becuase they got the huge amounts of money the musician wants, and musicians support this, becuase they get fucking mad checks, as compared to eating ramen noodles they cooked up on the engine manifold of their tour van. Then there are those musicians that are not that good, and bashed into radio and mtv listeners brains, usually pop music, that would be worried to not have a record company becuase the only reason they were in the industry is becuase someones parents knew somebody.

Record companies have spent millions of dollars on propoganda, telling people they are stealing from the musicians, when your actually just cutting out the need for a record company. Your eliminating the middle man.

I buy my songs, becuase i like a virus free computer.

But if you think about it.... If you cut out the record company, a song could cost around 15 cents a download. And the MUSICIAN still gets paid.
