Newbie Chronicles PartII

As many of you have read on my forray into this world of adult sites I will post about my exp's this past week. I want to make this a weekly feature highlighting my exp's so far with various things. So here I am at week 2 as a newbie.

This weeks episode our fearless newbie set out to learn about buying traffic for his 2 thumbnail galleries. Our newbie learned from another post what Chokertraffic was. He complained to his friends on ICQ about not knowing enough but was given a pat on the back by few and told to keep at it. Having found some solace in this he signed up at choker, loaded up his almost dry epassporte from his equally dry bank acct and went off clicking links on choker. Thew newbie had no idea what each type of link he was signing up for but did the best he could. He spent a total of $50 and bought various amounts for a few diff types of categories. The newbie was in amazement with the plethora of categories available to him. Again he mumbled about it being so hard, was he making the right choice? Were the categories he chose the right ones? Only time will tell..

Later the next day he checked his traffic stats and logged into his affiliates to see if he had sales. After a review the newbie had a frown on his face, he was upset, thousands of clicks but zero sales..awww poor newbie, $50 and not 1 sale! Thew newbie thought that he should spend $500 and not $50.hmm..The newbie then sat down and tried to figure out how to get his links out there. So he did this for 2 days until sat night he gave up for the night. The newbie was confused and a bit frustrated but he refuses to give up. Someone told him n GFY that it will all start making sense eventually and not to give up. So he went home and had some dinner and thought about the next step..

this is where we will leave the newbies adventures for now, stay tuned next week as we see the newbie try buying traffic again and complain a bit more to his ICQ friends. Will new newbie make some sales? Will he give up for a life in the suburbs working 9-5? STAY TUNED!!

Why would you embarrass yourself on a public board?

You should have started with this first, before paying for traffic. The beauty of the net is that there are tons of ways to get "links out there" without paying for hits. Just do some research. Then once you have that set up, and know what sells, buy some traffic to boost the sales. Never buy hits to a page until it has been tested as a good sale. :2 cents:

Alex- your a hater and a sig whore, I dont mind its funny, we sell porn for fuks sake who gives a shit? LOL

Hue G Pness- yes I am finding this out now, im still trying to figure out how to "test" a link to see what it can do, I also am trying to figure out how to get my links out there.

this thread is just tongue in cheek humor, my perspective and mistakes for all to see, its no biggie, I dont mind. If you laughed at it then I have achieved the desired affect. If you post a response on how to better my techniques then I have also succeeded :)

cheers

The newbie got some things under his belt that lead to money...

#1... How many hits DOES it take to make a sale? Does this change with different types of traffic? Are there plenty of hard numbers he can search for here about different types of traffic?

#2... Where can he get traffic for free? Can he use a DB and some programming to really maximize this?

re-#1- In my 2 weeks at this I have found 1 source that was giving me decent hits a day directly to my affiliate link without a TGP involved, I averaged about 10 signups for a week. I was really stoked, problem is that he doubled his advertising price! Now its hard for me to buy the ads becuase my affiliate wont pay for another 30 days, hence the need for cheaper/effective advertising in the meanwhile. Choker gave me shitloads of hits and nothing more. Not impressed but im sure I am not using the service correctly.

re-#2 thats a good question, my tgp is still under development, we will see where this leads, I have a good feeling about it but it will require more reading and submissions to the right partners, I guess thats the trick

thanks for the advice and kind words v_rocks

When you buy Choker traffic, don't buy a niche... as in, don't buy from Choker's niche mature_movies.... Instead pick from the other list.. a few boxes down where each traffic resource is a TGP... Find a good Mature TGP and buy their traffic. Or find 5 of them... But doing each seperately will let you know who is converting and who is a waste of money.

Because a month from now he is going to be making money instead of still trying to figure it out. Which is more than I can say for most newbs.

thanks for the explanation, will do next time. I actually will be buying traffic again on Tues Mar 7th. Is anyone available on ICQ, AIM or MSN to maybe sit through the purchase with me? Wont take but 5 min of your time.

V-Rocks- thanks for the comments, really encourages me. This learning curve is STEEEEEP but im not phased...
