I am setting this up and will soon be able to provide this service in 30 major metropolitan areas + the central valley in cali
Owning Google by spamming bathrooms contact for details :winkwink: |
Not really a new idea.
|
well the idea has been around for ages.. havent you seen those stupid "work at home" scam urls on telephone poles and shit..
Try to go into a bathroom these days and NOT find a few urls.. ( seriously ) take a look around next time your in the shitter. I guarantee almost every piece int he bathroom has an url on it.. the toilet papaer rolls, the toilet , the sink the soap dispenser heh.. Theres actually a guy around here that runs a service like the one you speak of.. he basically drives around to all the "sign boards " and such and places ads for other people that dont have time to drive around sticking up signs.. I was thinking of a better idea, using teens to advertise by "tagging" things .. like offer contests to teens to whioever can "tag" the best places with your url :) |

Or, alternatively I could just take nationwide tour...would be fun. Six months and I'll blanket the nation. |
I already know teams of people who do it.
You're only 5 years late. Dumb fuck |

Where does your team operate? Are they global? Are they nationwide? Just imagine how many public restrooms there are in the USA alone...it's huge! There's always opportunity :winkwink: |

Mine's easy. I just add .com to the sign on bathroom door. :winkwink: |

It is a little bit of social engineering,I guess... but there is always the question of risk / return and the reality of how many or how few people will really actually add or discuss your site with a link in forums that really mean anything. People just typing in the domain or emailing to their friends won't give you long term action.
It is an interesting idea. Alex |

also I don't know the legality of companies going around and writing on private and public property without authorization to do so...
its not like this is a "Tim loves Andrea" sort of writting... |

I think this is very true . i was watching a commercial the other day on t.v. and the domain was cool so i was looking what other typo's of that domain were available.. One of the typo domains was available , had never been purchased , and i could find NO mention of the domain anywhere on the internet . yet the domain was already listed on google. must have been because of people typing it in to the address bar and typoing the real domain |

A big die cut sticker on the back window of your car will get more hits than spending you day sticking stickers in restrooms.:2 cents:

In the vein of alternative advertising mediums, has anyone tried and had any measurable response to highway billboard advertising?
