man, I could not live without my spam filters....I have most of the important people I do business with in my address book so they get through, and once a day I skim over the spam inbox and sort it out....I barely have to correct it anymore, and I have my Outlook Junk settings on HIGH too

perfect gonzo is known for their spamming affiliates, has been for years now...in fact someone came on GFY a while back and complained about them so much that one of the spammers got mad and started including that dudes name in all the spam he sent out for that day, it was funny but scary at the same time, LOL

set up an auto-responder to the mailbox you have now that says "I am protecting my self from spam, please email me at the new address listed on www.blahblah.com" make them click something to find your new address so the spam bot doesn't pick it up, and make that address on the site
name (@) domain (.) com
so spiders don't grab it

well, i know it sucked SO bad dude, but I was rooting for you the whole time and I totally supported your cause

but when I went to clear out my junk email folder that day and saw your name in there, I let out a big loud "Holy Shit!!!", and I do admit I chuckled for a while, until I started thinking about how crazy that was

I laughed, but it was a felt sorry for you kind of laugh, not a hilarious funny laugh ;)

It's 2006 MOST programs actually really do care about spam. However, there are a number of programs setup primarily for mailer traffic, based offshore, etc. There is money in it, and they are setup well, and your complaints and whinging isn't going to change shit, so just deal with it.

johnnyhey 03-04-2006 12:14 AM

http://www.spamihilator.com/ filters 95% of my spam. lots of free plugins, and you can block email addy's as well.

And if you bothered to read my posts above...you'd see that I was actually telling bmb not to complain or whin but to instead change his email addy. I even reminded him what happened to me when I complained and whined. So, no need for you to tell me to "deal with it" because I am dealing with it. Makes you feel like a big man to tell someone to "deal with it" huh? Gooood, glad that made you feel better :thumbsup

_Lush_ 03-04-2006 12:56 AM

Perfect gonzo was one of the few sponsors that sent me a real Christmas card last xmas most of the sponsors went the way of the email greeting this year.

I thought that was kinda cool of them.

Actually that part was directed at him, not you, sorry if that was misunderstood, I only quoted you in reference to your claim that 'most' programs accept spam. But anyway, your ability to deal with it, rather than whinging seems to be a recent development judging by this thread in comparison to some others I saw of yours in the past.

Yea - you should read my threads more often....I've turned a new leaf. Doesn't do any good to complain and whine about things you have no control over. Took me a while to learn that but it finally sunk in. I'm trying to stay on the positive road and away from haters and assholes. It's a struggle when dealing with some of the folks that frequent this board but I'm trying my best :winkwink:

Have a great weekend :thumbsup

Good attitude, and I'm not talking about spam either. It's good to carry that attitude throughout the entirety of your life. Too much fucked up shit in this world for you to concern yourself with all of it. :thumbsup
