Sir Paul is an IDIOT
he and his wife to be exact about the seal hunt in canada
whats next the cows and chickens? |
seriously they are idiots representing a bunch of extremist...
they act like seals are fucking humans |
LOL yep my boy Danny is not going to let them away with it:)
I'm from Newfoundland and proud of it and the history of my province and that is one thing that is a part of the culture and the way of life. They have to get their facts straight about it all. :2 cents: Smurfette |
As a Canadian I'm sickened by the slaughter. But the aboriginals have a right to kill them..It gives Canada a bad name for sure
|
Why should the aboriginals be the only ones with the right to hunt seals? Seals are not only used for the furs, there penis's are a big thing for china or japan its an aphrodisiac, people here eat the meat flippers and flipper pie are big on Good Friday. And a pile of other things
Smurfette |
what makes a baby seal superior to any other baby animal or other animal?
|
Because they are furry and have big black eyes lol

Shut the fuck up guy. An ex-beatle can do no wrong.
Besides, have you seen pictures of those things? - fuck, they're cute. |
I'm amazed at the bullshit they are showing people... there video is so fucking outdated but they keep on using it to try and get their point across!
Then they try to say thats seals don't eat cod... so I guess they call up and order Pizza Hut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Toatl Bullshit!!!!!!!!! |
It gives you folks a really bad rep up there. If you want to live with that image for your homeland, so be it.
The world is watching and its not a pretty picture. Seals aren't humans, but they feel pain just like any living creature does. Most humans aren't compassionate and don't give a fuck about animal suffering though, so this stuff goes on. Paul is right though, that area would make a shit load more money turning it into a major travel destination and tourist attraction. And by the way, Paul McCartney is one of the greatest musicians of all time and not an idiot. |

I was dismayed to learn during my recent trip to Australia that Kangaroos must be periodically culled. It's unfortunate, but the results of over-population, to hear them described, sound far less humane -- :2 cents:

MUST BE? Funny how Kanaroos andother animals survived just fine for MILLIONS of years before man "benevolent" help. Considering that besides bugs and birds the are more people than any other animals. Maybe we should do some culling of our own species first. |
For anyone interested in animal welfare . . .

Danny Williams made a good point though, yes they think that seal hunt is bad, but have they ever been to the slaughter houses for pigs, cows, chickens? Its no different, they are still killing the animals and not in very nice ways. There is a pig farm just down the road from me and boy they have the best pork chops I have ever tasted :) But you don't hear about these things cause it happens behind closed doors not out on the open waters and ice like the seal hunt.
|
i hope that paul and his wife do not win this one - if they do - they will go next to the minker's, then fox guys, then big game hunters, then small game hunters, etc.. doesnt end

It's no different!!!!!!!!!!! As for turning it on a tourist attraction what about our fish indusrty which the seals are destroying everyday? |
In a way it's a catch 22..you leave the seals alone and the fish population decreases, thus putting the fisherman out of work.I'm an animal lover but killing defenseless animals is wrong.I also eat meat so I'm a bit hypocritical
|
GatorB, agreed. Clearly, natural systems of long-operation are out of whack, and the variable is Us.
And, as you say, short of "self-culling", I really don't see how to bring things back into balance. But, neither can I think of anything more *counter-natural* than self-culling. Behold, our best efforts -- zoological parks, preserves, "protected" lands etc. -- do little more than *harm* but in a less apparent (euphemistic?) way. 2hp |

But in most slaugherhouses they don't go around clubbing animals 10 times on the head to kill them and letting them lay there for an hour to die. When I was a kid we were at a baseball park and my little sister got up and made the mistake of running in the direction of a batter who was taking practice swings. The batter didn't see her and she got nailed smack in the forehead as he did a full power swing of the bat around. To this day I can still hear the sounds of her screaming in pain and writhing on the ground in total agony with blood spurting out of her head. So I don't buy the seal pups don't feel any pain after the first blow. |

I don't agree with the clubbing myself, but in these modern times 90% of the seals are shot with a gun... problem is these humane places are still using old and outdated videos to try and get people to stop the seal hunt! |

They are all hell houses as far as I'm concerned. :( http://www.all-creatures.org/anex/vc.html |

Yea, what an asshole McCartney is for trying to save defenseless animals. Nugents the real man for killing them.
