Question Regarding New Sponsor...
I have been promoting a new sponsor that offers some fantastic unique content. Conversions have been less than 1:200.... And it is a 50/50 recurring program.
BUT the sponsor in question offers a trial for $4.95 (for 3 days and after 3 days the rebill is $19.99 a month) and out of 20 trial signups I have gotten so far, a good 10 trials have cancelled within the 3 days period. Is this a normal average for cancellations? This seems very high to me... The program as I said is very new and the members area seems quite limited to me if I was a paying customer. I just wanted to get a general concensus from other experienced recurring webmasters if this was a normal ratio or if this was way too high... Any opinions or suggestions on this would be appreciated. DH:glugglug |
You said it yoruself, the member's area is quite limited? That's probably why. I suggest you find another sponsor which some decent shit on offer for the members.

that is the industry average, about half of trials will rebill, the numbers are better for more unsaturated niches

I had one once that did awesome on trial signups like 1:110 but I never ever ever ever had a single recur. It was not worth the hassle so I left

OK thanks for your opinions guys, I appreciate it.

On DA - last year. (when we offered a trial) 1 out of 6 trials did_not_ cancel the trial.
At that time we also had very limited content, updated once a week, no videos. We removed the trial - and converted virtually the same. Hope that helps. |
Between 40-70% seems to be about average depending on the niche and content inside. You gotta remember that many signing with a trial will simply download all that they can and then cancel.

Try a few different programs and see what the numbers look like in comparison to each other. :)
