SEO gurus inside please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just purchased 3 domains containing keywords for my mainstream biz. however my mainstream corp domain doesnt contain any keywords.

should i redirect the traffic from the 3 new domains to my main corp domain? or should i build mirror sites on each seperate domain?

yep . . . and do yourself a favor. Put those three domains on 3 different Class C's, so you want a Class C for each site. One for the corp, and one for each of the feeder sites. You don't want them interlinked on the same C

Do not redirect directly, create doorway/gateway pages and link them up to your mainstream.

Whats your goal for the new domains? Typein traffic, or you hope to get them listed in SERPS?

When You Think Gateways.. Think BMW

:)

Linkster 03-03-2006 06:37 PM

I was gonna mention the recent BMW event - the gateways need to be significantly different in content (which should happen anyway for your intentions) and seperated not only c class but think about the fact that the largest SE is now a registrar with bot access to the whois :)

hire me ;-) is this a bouncing thread?

jrap 03-03-2006 06:50 PM

Unless you are going to actually build real, unique content for each of those three sites, I would just 301 redirect the type-in traffic from those new domains, and block any crawlers in robots.txt.
I say spend more effort on the SEO of your main site. Invest in unique content, backlinks, etc. Just because your main domain doesn't contain any keywords doesn't mean it can't rank well for those targeted keywords.
