Does anyone know how to make a transparent background?

I want to stamp my logo on to every image, but when I try it theres always a white background around my lettering and I can never export it as truly transparent background.

how do you make a logo and then export it with a transparent bg?

In Photoshop when you select "new" for a new file just click on transparent (bottom left on the little pop-up window) and make your logo inthere.

copy it in PS export as GIF or copy it remove the back with the replace color or wand and paste it on a no background PSD export as PNG

save as a PNG however you must have a clear 'layer' under the image

Be careful on using .png on webpages. Its only supported under IE in version 6 and up. :2 cents:

PNG's work fine in Firefox.

Looks like the OP solved the problem though.

Fuck, when I run the actual images through Picture Shark to stamp my logo on the pictures, it puts a white background on the logo.

Is there a way to make a logo and stamp it on all my images without having it create a background?

Learn about layers in photoshop and you will see that it is easy as pie. If you need some tutorials you can check out photoshopcafe dot com Some very interesting stuff there.:thumbsup
