Options for selling a DVD online
 

Hi...

What are some easy options to sell a single DVD online?

We currently use CCBILL as a processor and they say you can't do something like this
Charge a fee to download a low quality version of the video (in the members area) and receive the DVD by mail.
We would be responsibile for the shipping.

But they say this goes against their policies and can not be done with them.

You can't market it that way any way on your website.

Does anyone have any good/easy options to sell a single DVD?

we have been using netbilling, and if you have the volume it is worth it, but if you only sell 1-2 of them a week it isn't worth it

I would look into alternative payment solutions like moneybookers and bidpay

If they are Actyually paying for the membership to the site.... and we ship a dvd completely on our own... Does anyone know why CCBILL doesn't allow this? It's hard to speak to anyone?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean .. are you saying that paying members pay EXTRA to download the video, then have you ship the DVD to them?

anyway, a merchant account can handle processing for product sales (even adult products and vids)
If you are U.S. based the rates are outrageously low and fees are minimal, you can even use Netbillings gateway with it. If you are non U.S. based, the rates are slightly higher but fees are also minimal. You do not have to have large volumes to obtain an account like this.

We wanted to have two options using ccbill

the first option would be like $15 and u get access to the members area to download the full video

the second option would be like $30 and you get access to the members area----and then WE ship out a DVD to that person on our own...nothing to do with ccbill.... we are just using them for payment.

So the surfer has two options --- to join the members area... with or without recieving the DVD.

We use Netbilling too for our memberships and products. You cannot go wrong with them.

You send them raw tapes and they author the DVD, do the packaging and everything. if you are low on resources, it is a SWEET solution.
