If you are in your 30s, you've never been married and have no baggage; you have your shit together financially and you have an outgoing personality.... You'd be surprised how much of a commodity you become in the US. It also helps when you are working in positions that bring you into contact with a lot of women all the time, which I seem to have had. :-)

As for me, I've already passed the age when sex was the highest priority. I had got married and 5 years later got divorced. And I beleive that the basis of any heterosexual "relationship" is respect, your willingless to always be near and sacrifice, to do little sweet things, keep your word and never betray. And sure to make love :) But what I can say, when you screw and lose everything only then you realize how you need the person.
