Looks like Bush's days are over
NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin said on Wednesday he was shocked by video showing U.S.
President George W. Bush being told the day before Hurricane Katrina hit that the city's protective levees could fail. The tape contradicts the president's statement four days after the hurricane struck: "I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees." http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060302/...NlYwMlJVRPUCUl discuss |
Bush = Iraq Information Minister
|
Where are all the BUSH defenders?
|
Hindsight is 20/20.
There are a lot of factors that need to work in unison in order for the levees to fail. He probably used multiple expert opinions and decided that the risk of that actually happening was small. |

He lied there is no way to defend that,
|
Yes, we knew that. He has less than half-a-term left in office.
|
"Last month, a congressional report written by Republicans said federal agencies were unprepared for the catastrophe and quicker involvement by Bush might have improved the response."
You know you're screwed when your own kind start blamming you. :1orglaugh |

That cracks me up... meanwhile the mayor used the federal funding that was supposed to shore up the levees over the last three years to build madi gras fountains and line the pockets of his friends, utterly failed to evacuate according the the plans laid out for the city, didn't issue the order until 24 hours before instead of 3 days like he should have, didn't use the city buses to evacuate the poor, etc, etc, etc.... BUT IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!!:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh
Meanwhile Clinton didn't get any crap for not having federal aid into the earchquake zones in LA and San Fran in the early 90s for over a week.... and he shouldn't have.... evacuation and first response are the responsibility of state and local governments you dunderheads! |

What, lots of water? I mean, seriously, look what happened when the Mississippi River flooded in Missouri. Lots of water, and broken levees. It's not rocket science. |

the levees will hold - nothing to worry about. |
There are so many contradictions in Bush's statements, most of them with 9/11 ... this one is minor in my opinion
will definitely not stop him :( |

The levees were built to hold back water. They failed. They're not designed to fail. They are designed to work, but didn't work as expected. |

not even the experts could predict with a certainty the levees would fail, it was just a possibility. what could bush have done anyway, it's the hurricane's fault they fell.

I'm totally in agreement with those in this thread that say that the President most certainly had all sorts of different information coming in from different sources, and it's quite possible that the overwhelming theory was that the levees would hold when the hurricane swept through.
That said, however, it's also still very undeniable that the President lied. "I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees." |

again... Most people from New Orleans like Ray Nagen, and do not have any problem with that comment. It was blown way out of proportion by the national media. The local NO news media embraced the comment, and so have the NO people. |

Exactly, but the Bush hating bandwagon sits silently waiting for anything to go wrong with the country and then they quickly form together to make a trail to it being Bush's fault. No truth or correct answers just quickly trail it to Bush someone some way FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! LOL The funniest part of it all is they don't even know they are doing that. It is quite entertaining I must say. I enjoy listening to Air America all the time. Pure clueless standup comedy. Hate Hate Hate! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |

what bothers me more about this whole situation is not the fact that the govt failed on all levels (local, state, and federal) but that the govt will repeat all these mistakes over again next time.. |

Just like the title of this thread, Bush's days are numbered! You got people to come in here by making a negative statement that actually has no truth. LOL You are just as bad as them! :winkwink: Okay back to work. I thought I would just stir up the thread a bit and get people trashing and hating. You may get longest thread on this one baby. hehe :wetkiss |

Are you talking about the media or the Bush administration? You should be ashamed of yourself for supporting these criminals. Hopefully one day you'll realize how horrible of a thing it was for you to defend these people, but for now you and everyone like you are fucking pathetic. George Bush wants you and your boss in jail, but your pure ignorance and blind obedience forces you to put logic aside and support a criminal regime. Please, for the sake of your country and your children, either use some common sense and start thinking for yourself, or kill yourself. You're doing nothing but harm to your country, and if you have one, your family. You've said a lot of terrible things in support of these criminals, one day you're going to have to redeem yourself. I don't understand how anyone can claim to believe in God yet at the same time support psychopathic murders who are committing horrible acts of terrorism around the globe in the name of money and power. Again, I hope one day you will realize how horrible what you're done is and work to redeem yourself. |

The reason why the present admin "started it" is the same reason why they won office, because there was a political "sea change" in the US. The people that elected them, and then started contacting them once they got elected are the people that "started it", and it's coming from ALL sides in this country. Don't kid yourself. |
