does cereal go bad?

It might taste stale, but I don't think it'll harm you.

depends on what kind of cereal, I say try a little to see if it's fresh

Unless its in a vacuum sealed package, it will eventually develop molds growing on the cereal.

Look for small bugs in the bag.

Thems little bugs is there for extra protein. :upsidedow

I believe the only food that does not go bad is honey.

Many years ago I heard of an excavation of a site in NYC where they found pickled eggs believed to be 150 to 200 years old. One was eaten.

cereals are just cheap. just hit the store and buy new ones

Yes. It goes bad.... VERY Bad. The molds that thrive on cereal include aflatoxin. Very toxic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aflatoxin both on crops and processed cereal meal.
