its supposed to show up once , then you click to "continue to GFY" , and you dont see the ad again for another 6 hours.

How can that be so annoying , that ad was designed specifically not to annoy users!

Only problem I have with it is that when I go through "gofuckyourself.com" (like I usually do) I am logged in automatically. When I click on "continue to GFY", it forwards me to "gfy.com" and requires me to log in. Remember, gfy.com and gofuckyourself.com are not the same. THAT is irritating as hell. Other than that I have no problems with it.

it wouldnt even let me onto gfy just kept redisplaying the same ad over and over. if i didnt have the inside on bookmark i wouldnt have been able to get in..

a big thumbs down on the implementation of this ad.. dont know if its gfy's fault or juggs , but it sucks ass , normally i love flash ads, this one sucks ( sorry guys , it doesnt reflect upon the company but ...)

Well, it IS annoying. The ad takes you to gfy.com and i always log in to gofuckyourself.com. So now i have use my firefox history to get to the inside forums.

Next time you design an ad, take a couple of minutes to think about what you are doing.

I think that ad isn't permanent.

I use IE and have never seen the ad....

it seems that not matter what you advertise here, you will always get people whinning about it! there have been skins, flash ads and everything else here so we wanted to try something new...so we did! personally, i have problem when i go to gfy's main page nor does it log me off and i use firefox. also, it's one thing do dislike the ad and complain about it, that's fine everybody could express their own opinions, but to tell us to remove the ad that is very much exagerated!

Look, I signed up for your program because
you've got good content.
you offer the right 'tools'.
your tours look good.
you have epass payouts.
NOT because of the flash ad. In fact, I never even take a look at programs just because they skin gfy or plaster it with ads. I take a look (and sign up) when I see a thread about the program, explaining its "strong points"...

Do I think the ad should go? Personnaly I think it should go(*) or atleast be fixed. It's easy. just add some code to detect the user is visiting gfy.com or gofuckyourself.com and then redirect them to the right page.

(*) for 1 reason only: it breaks gfy.

It logs EVERYONE off.... go yo www.gofuckyourself.com you are redirected to gfy.com and you get logged off...(unless you normally use gfy.com, which isnt my case)


It's one thing to pretend your ad isnt annoying (it doesnt bother me anyway I gotta admit)...but to tell us that the ad does NOT log you off GFY is very much exagerated! :thumbsup

most people arent pissed because of the extra clicks...they are annoyed because they get logged off....and because, its not showing every 6 hours, but rather EVERY time you go to www.gofuckyourself.com (not that this part really bothers me)

if there are problems with the ad that shouldn't have occured than i agree that it should be fixed, not removed! all i was saying is that every affiliate program does ads on gfy and you will always find people who will complain about them for whatever reason!

i never said it wasn't annoying; fact of the matter is that i find all ads are annoying in their own way! ads are made to stir up different reactions and controversy as well as to get your product known and i guess it is a success then! as for the ad not loging me off, i am not the only one who doesn't get logged off from gfy and you have seen mixed reactions and results throughout this thread and other ones!

like I said, I have no problems with the ads itself! It gets plenty of attention! And it's an original idea!

As for the logoff thing, if you NEVER use gfy.com (but rather use the full domain, gofuckyourself.com), and you hit the index page, you are redirected to gfy.com...and since the session variables arent the same on both domain, if you never use GFY.com well you aren't logged in, and all the threads you clicked already etc.. aren't highlighted anymore...the ONLY thing I ask is to redirect to www.gofuckyourself.com and not to www.gfy.com!...

I was getting logged off, with firefox... in fact your browser has NOTHING to do with that...Its was just a matter of redirecting to the bad domain... (gfy.com instead of gofuckyourself.com)...again.. if you are logged in on gfy.com, you WONT get logged off...

but I think its fixed now...

People have to understand that this is not what the plan is , we want to present the present , once every 6 hours for a week . This ad has proven to be extremely effective so far !

It was created with a deep concern for the surfers of this board, me and eric planned it out this way because we believed it would be more efficient and less bothersome than previous ads. Obviously everytime something new comes up , there are technical difficulties , people are not supposed to get logged off or get the ad everytime , those should be fixed very soon , and all upcoming ads similar to this one will not have those issues.

Different people work on different platforms , with different settings , it is hard to test properly ahead of time!
