how many people read threads based on who posts them?

Generally no, I read the topic. But there is some merit to reading who posted if you enjoy their posts...as well as ignoring those that irritate you.

The topic is usually more important though, to me at least.

There are many threads I don't read based on who posts them. However, I read threads with interesting titles despite the poster with the excepetion previously mentioned. I've just learned that some people consistantly post garbage despite the title of their thread.

I am conscious enough to do so.

Very rarely. I am most interested in the topics. I try to stick to light hearted or funny threads.

I usually read most of them regardless

Of course! Or at least I note it. There are people who constantly cry wolf with their subjects and I get tired of opening "gotcha!" threads.

tards? Obviously a thread started by someone known, will have more significance than a thread started by some loser no one heard of.

a tard to me is someone who posts in a "popular" person's thread with a :thumbsup or a "me too 678"

I definitely read posts by people who are known for contributing intelligent things to te board. Otherwise the thread title has to be interesting on some level.

you clearly asked who READS popular threads, there was no mention of posting in those thread, but yea, posting "sig spot" or :thumbsup is pretty lame...

I usually read threads based on topic

i usually dont click on large threads.. too much reading, not enough time

normally i only click on threads based on title

My hope would be that the people who matter rather than the surfers here,would be sensible enough to click a thread topic that is relevant to their business regardless of who posted it. I have posted threads here many times only to get 1 or 2 responses. But guess what, a number of those little read threads resulted in good business being achieved. Now that does deserve a :thumbsup

On my part, it's a NO. First I look at the list and from that, I click on the topics that I find very interesting.

I just read through all the threads but if I don't have any good to say I stay away.
