Opinions on the new GFY ad ??
 

What do you guys think of this new type of ad ?
I figured I would go for something like that because I find it less bothersome than some other types of ads and it markets the program just aswell if not better ?

I found it extremly bothersome.. hate it :/

Didn't like it. :( Nor did I like having to sign in to gfy.com. (not that that's a huge deal...)

What ad are you referring to?

I dont think I've seen it yet, unless you mean the one in your sig, which I like.

Ya ... It fucked up my system ..wouldn't let me login .. had to log out then back in .. i thought it was a mistake .. It didn't make me want to give the program a shot ... not to say i won't but at the time i wasn't to happy with the way it jacked up my shit ..i would have liked an X to close it and continue to GFY ..:2 cents:

shit that sucks , it was meant to be a very simple ad that you can just "continue to GFY" , I think its much less bothersome than some other ads i've seen here before!

my thoughts were it was just a matter of time before something like that was done.

I find it agressive but not being effected by spam and pop up and such anymore I did what I do with any type of advertising of this nature, I simply clicked through to what I wanted.

No problem with gfy selling advertising and Ill take that over a skin .

Same here - didnt have to sign in. Thought it was a new skin at first. Gets your attention which is what an ads supposed to do. :thumbsup

it may have something to do with what page I bookmarked http://www.gfy.com/gateway.php?returl=www.gfy.com but i have no NAV and have to cut everything off from http://www.gfy.com on to get to the NAV ... bit of a pain in the ass but whatever ... I liked it. And I had no problems loggin in.

If you want to see it go here www.gfy.com and you'll see the ad. If you don't want to see it, then make your GFY shortcup straight to fucking-around-and-business-discussion/ which is the "Fucking Around & Program Discussion" area of the board.

Seems like the people getting annoyed by the ad are the people that are not getting the intended ad.

never seen it and been lurking all day on GFY, im using firefox by the way.

Yeah thats pretty much what happened with me aswell.

All the threads i've clicked on the last day or two aren't showing that i've clicked them now, which is a bit annoying...

No problem, looks good and easy to see what to do.

And I seen the add so it's kewl for everything I would think.

normall i like flash ads. this one was implemented improperly. It wouldnt even let me login just kept rediplaying the same ad over and over again even after click "no thanks " and the top part of the ad doesnt blend very well with the top of gfy.. good idea, bad implementation
