? for the people with tattoos

Do any of you guys ever think you are going to regret these tattoos when you get older like 60?

Also would you guys get as many tattoe as some of you have if you weren't self employed? Don't really have to worry about making a good impression when you work for yourself.

I'm not self-employed, and I once got a surprisingly conservative job (librarian for the county paper) even though I was covered with tattoos. It still matters, but not as much as it used to. Many companies don't care as long as you are behind the scenes and not up front dealing with the public. And besides, that's what turtlenecks and long sleeves are for.

As far as regretting them with age, some of the coolest chicks I've ever seen in tattoo magazines are the really old tattooed grandmas. You're going to look old one day whether you have tattoos or not.

The two i have are on my forearm and my back. While the back tatt is obviously covered, the forearm one is not. Society seems to be getting a lot more accepting of body art as it becomes more commonplace. I dont regret either of mine

I think a lot of it also has to do what the tattoo is of.

I'm have a reg job during the day, webmaster at night situation. I have visible tats, earrings in both ears, the nips are piereced, so the headlights are always on. During the day I work with cops all over the country, teaching them how to use our mug shot software. Face to face, some ignore it, some do a double take, and the rednecks down south (where I'm from) usually make a smart assed comment. Then I tell them how much I make versus how much they make, and they shut the fuck up.

tattoos are sexy.

My tattoo is placed so that it is hidden from the general public so I don't worry about losing out on jobs because of it but I do wonder how it will look when I am a grandma. Chances are I'll just have it removed if I don't like it in the future.

These are exactly the reasons why I hesistate to put any on my body. Tats won't remain perfect as you get older.

I have a couple and they are both hidden when wearing a t shirt.. I'm not going to ever go below the elbows though.. Not only for possibly having to work 1 day, but just in case a legal situation ever arose and I need to look presentable.

SmokeyTheBear 03-01-2006 07:53 PM

I have several.. only 1 i regret , i just haven't found anything to do over it yet.. besides if you ever get bored of it you can just do another one overtop of it..

When I am sixty, the people my age will be 60 too, and a lot of us have tattoos, so it won't be the same as if I were 60 now.
