Remember I told you about my g/f?

How she was getting a computer sent to her? Well it got here and it was a pieces of shit just like I said . Now she's mad at me, silly huh?

So she doesnt speak to me for about 2 weeks and last night she calls and needs help she can't get to her email and I can't understand what she's talking about. She wants me to come help her now but I really don't feel like it to be honest.

I offered her help and she snubbed her nose at me before so I feel obligated to help. You think I should help her anyway?

grumpy 03-01-2006 08:35 AM

Nope, i dont remember and why do you think we give a shit.

TurboAngel 03-01-2006 08:36 AM

Well don't you live up to your name.

:)

QualityMpegs 03-01-2006 08:37 AM

That sounds like a big pain in the ass...fuck it

TheLegacy 03-01-2006 08:45 AM

unless you have never made a mistake in judgement before then dont' go. If you are only human and can also make errors then I suggest you go over there and without rubbing it into her face fix the problem - because without a doubt there will be a day when you are an ass and they will remember how much you had your shit together and not rub your face in it.

Very good point.

:)

WebairGerard 03-01-2006 08:46 AM

nothing worse then trying to fix issues with old, slow fucked up computers and their owners who drive you crazy! :)

SilentKnight 03-01-2006 08:58 AM

She wouldn't speak to you for two weeks because she bought a crappy computer?!

What sense does that make?

Tell her you'll be glad to come over and fix it for her.

...in two weeks. (or so)

Let her stew awhile.

TurboAngel 03-01-2006 09:05 AM

It was given to her after it sat in a garage for a year, it was new in 97.

:Oh crap

Trixxxia 03-01-2006 09:06 AM

I answered NO :) Just because that's what's always going through my head when I get those 'my computer doesn't work' calls from my family/friends/neighbours/all their distant cousins - but that I never say to them. :( I find myself running to help and solve their technical problems just because they didn't want to listen to me.

TurboAngel - I would go and help 'just because'.... If she's a shithead for being mad at you, doesn't mean you have to be mean. If she has a conscience, she'll say sorry for being a turd before.

However, in cases like my brother, who needs help at least once every two weeks, I do rub it in that I'm not his 'let me fuck up the computer so I can call the helpline' person :)

G-Rotica 03-01-2006 09:06 AM

Hell no.

Normally I'm the first person to jump at helpin' someone out with a computer problem...I think of it as returning the favours that others gave me over the years.

But if someone's gonna act childish and not speak to me for a few weeks because they made a bad decision on a computer...then I'd take my own sweet time before offering to help out.

While I think the friend acted like a total ass for not speaking for 2 weeks over a computer, I do agree with this answer. :)

Oh don't get me wrong SK ;) I keep'em waiting too! I remember one time my brother got all standoffish on me and called a service to come over :) It costed him over $400.00 to re-install Windows cuz the tech couldn't figure out the problem and my brother didn't want to reformat - he reformatted and got screwed from every end :( Anyhow, now I use that example - if they want to wait for me for when 'I' have time to do it - that's fine. If they think I'm running there like a puppydog, I give them the number of the guy my brother had and tell them the story. They wait for me now or will bring their computers over to my house so I can do it when I have free time and don't have to displace myself. :1orglaugh

SongRider 03-01-2006 10:31 AM

Tam goes through this shit all the time.... let her go and do without for a while or figure it out herself or better yet have to PAY someone to fix it a couple of times and maybe she will understand the value of what you know and have worked at learning for yourself.

If it was ME, I'd go over and help her as soon as the opportunity presented itself, but it would be like this.

-What's the problem?
-Fix the problem
-Leave and let her know she can call you if she needs help again

No friendly chit-chat at all. If and when she questions your attitude, THEN you tell her that you came over to help her as a "Friend" would. BUT, as a "Friend" you're hurt about what she did to you.

Leave it at that. My guess is she'll apologize because SHE made a mistake and did unfairly take it out on you.

If the next time she calls, she wants to go for drinks, or whatever you used to do, go and have a good time. Let her apologize in time.

If the next time she calls, it's to fix her computer again THEN go over at your convenience.

:2 cents:

So...even after ignoring you for two weeks, she calls and wants you to come fix the 'puter for her - and today you offer to fix it and she says not today?

So now she wants it fixed at her convenience.

Sounds rather audacious to me. You're getting walked on. I'd be questioning just how good a friend this really is.

BoneGirl 03-01-2006 12:11 PM

Helpings one thing--being a silent bitch for her choosing crap is another!

Babagirls 03-01-2006 12:37 PM

i cant stand people like that. so not only would i tell her hell no, i'd tell her to stick her computer up her ASS for being a bitch. lol

Yep but you know what I don't want her to call me any time there's a prob so I think I'm better off not messing with her computer.

Oh well, we'll have to see what I get for my B-Day.

:winkwink:

Adult Insider Bubba 03-01-2006 04:02 PM

I would make her sweat for a few days and then call her and help her out

Scott McD 03-01-2006 04:05 PM

She sounds like a dumb bitch.

Tell her to go fuck herself...

reynold 03-01-2006 08:09 PM
