Ikea in SAC

68 people are already in line with sleeping bags and such waiting for Ikea to open tommorrow morning at 9. Now maybe it's just me but don't they realize that the Ikea in Richmond/Berkeley is only an hour away? Id rather drive an hour than sit in the rain, wind and (tornadoes)! What exactly is the appeal- besides meatballs?

I think thats what gets me. I used to live in Copenhagen, a quick 10 minute train ride from malmo, sweden and I swear anywhere you looked in either city, all you saw were Ikea stores. Its sorta like we have wal-marts on everycorner, they have Ikeas!

Dont forget to eat the ikea meatballs with lingonberry sauce, they are really really really really reayy goooood :xomunch

I need to gu their just to get a bag of frozen meatballs to eat at home, damn its good. damn damn damn.

Sometimes I just go there for the takeout, ikea meatballs are little slices of culinary heaven.

They normaly have rediculous deal on the opening day, when the store opened here I think the first person through the door for $2000 worth of vouchers and the next 50 people for a free sofa or something.

reynold 03-01-2006 12:19 AM

my gf's so damn crazy about ikea... if not for my insistence, we might end up falling in line with our sleeping bags, too.

Almost Evil 03-01-2006 12:39 AM

Ok that's it

Channel 3 says a couple of guys there started ordering pizza, way to put those cell phones to use guys! I am soooo tempted to drive out there just to get pictures of this madness!!!

Manowar 03-01-2006 01:03 AM

lol, Ikea isn't that great

Sarah_Jayne 03-01-2006 03:30 AM

affordable items that are somewhat trendy looking and since they didn't cost much you can replace when they aren't trendy. Also, a lot of ideas for making the most of small spaces which is why they are popular with city folk.

It happened in the UK when they opened a new store. The store had to shut down due to to many people attending!

jana69 03-01-2006 05:42 AM
