Who couldn't get away from a segway? their top speed is 12mph. They are also 9k a peice, not exactly something i can see the cops parking somewhere to chase someone on foot.

Well what do they do when they get out of their cars and chase someone? They leave a $30,000 car behind. You think anyone is going to steal one of those from a cop if they park it? First of all they didn't buy these, the company that made them lent them to test them out. They're a 3rd of the price of a car and you bitch about it? Fuck, they're saving money! The top speed can go 15 mph. A human can go 20 mph, but only for a short distance so they could catch someone if it was on the street, it might just take a minute or two.

If a cop is cruisin around some bad neighborhoods on a Segway and he has to get off and chase some bad guy on foot. He's gonna have to leave the Segway behind. It will take all of 30 seconds for some punk to hop on that thing and ride off into the sunset. There goes $9,000 down the hole.
