Why are you afraid to post under a real sig? whats the point of fake handles & Anons?
 

what is the point of Anons.?. Are you afraid to talk shit or hurt someone's feelings face to face. It's always easier to talk behind someones back or behind a fake handle.

this place would be alot more productive if everyone had to put there pic and info in there sig. 80% of the wannabees and kids would stop posting and we could all get back to business.

I read alot of threads and its getting old when people flame under a fake name it's disrespectful in my eyes and lacks balls

I only have one nick. I tend to avoid drama (its unproductive) but in the event I need to tell someone to fuck off it will be with this name.

Maybe we need to start a petition where we get webmasters to sign something and make some new rules her on GFY. When this board first started, it was awesome ... all webmasters. Now e have kids, surfers and other unwanteds.

Scan the database, check for duplicate emails on multiple profiles. Make it neccessary to put your full contact info in your sig .. I don't know, just tryig to figure out some kind of fix.

It's really a tool of scammers and crooks, if you have nothing to hide, there is absolutely no reason to have a fake nick, unless of course you are registering a fake nick just to be funny...

Wishful thinking I suspect: far more user-friendly boards than this still get many more lurkers than participants. Most webmasters apparently prefer to waste half our lives finding everything out for ourselves, rather than exchange even run-of-the-mill information.

A more interesting question might be why people hide behind fake personalities, because if the persona is fake, does the nick matter anyway? We are regularly told that this assh*le or that is really a nice guy when you meet him: why the difference? Maybe the board persona reflects what such a person would like to be like in "real life" if he had the bottle for it :Graucho

Them wooden bumpers is solid red oak - and more solid than the original hollow metal factory bumper. :)

Either way, they're mostly just for show. The bumper's function is to distribute the impact to the frame mounts.

I mostly added the wooden one since the original was black and had a few minor scratches. The paint scheme was metallic blue and white, so the black bumper was an eyesore.

Plus it matched the wood floor in the truck bed. I always thought it was somewhat distinctive.

There is also more to it (and I'm 100% sure you know about that) but I agree in the majority of the cases its straight-out-pussyness....

I know a couple of real respected program reps/managers that use fake nicks to bash the competition and flame the other big guys just so they don't look bad doing it with their real names

fake nicks are good for business. companies essentially do this, its called stealth marketing when they make fake nics and give a new movie/product rave reviews in a forum. eg. "I saw ....movie on the weekend. It was the best movie ever!!!!" posted in a forum that fits the demographics of the target audience in order to boost sales
