Trillian or Gaim, which is the best IM?
 

What's the best multi-protocol instant messaging client software, Trillian or Gaim?

they both suck but at least gaim is free. *shrug*

Gaim all the way. Tested miranda, im2 etc - but still came to the same conclusion.

I like yahoo messenger believe it or not. I think it's cool :)

Which other IM do you prefer then?

I don't beleive Yahoo Messenger is a multi-protocol IM!

i use gaim because its encryption is compatible with more clients.. last time i used trillian it only encrypted with other trillian, gaim can do gaim on windows or linux and that os X client i forget its name.

I use trillian, but I don't really like any of the multi-protocol IM clients very much.

Been having problems with Trillian before.. I started to use GAIM a few months ...I guess Trillian is better

I'm using Trillian for almost a year now and there's only one occassion that I had a problem. This was fixed with a released update for AIM/ICQ users.

I used Gaim, bec. its so easy and simple...

What's the real benefit to using these over plain on Yahoo or AIM?

I use Trillian, I like it, but I can't say it's the best, I've never used anything else :)

A multi-protocol software allow you to log in to multiple accounts on multiple IM networks simultaneously and chat with people on ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC channel, Jabber, Yahoo Messenger all at the same time.

I hate Trillian. It doesn't load up nicks correctly.

Can it handdle IRC channel?

I love and use Trillian.
