Just stick to your goal and if you want to achieve it enough you will!!

northboy 02-27-2006 05:38 PM

everytime you think of chips and cookies, buy an electric shocker and shock yourself when you have cravings. You should stop eating junk food in no time.

pornguy 02-27-2006 05:54 PM

First off make a more realistic gaol. How about 10 pounds the first month. Make sure that the weight loss is not JUST from dieting. Do some exercise.

Just by reading your post, you're setting yourself up for failure.

It's not how much you can lose in a month, it's changing your life long habit of eating the wrong foods at the wrong time in the wrong combinations.

Change your eating habits and get healthier.....you'll find that giving up soda and replacing it with water.....eating six smaller meals a day that are balanced with a healthy fat, a healthy carb and a healthy protein will start you on a life long weight loss that lasts....

:thumbsup Finally a post here that is meaningful. If youre going on a "diet" to lose weight, you'll end up gaining it back and then some. In order to lose weight for good, you have to make serious changes in your lifestyle.

KRL 02-27-2006 06:02 PM

One good thing is to get a step machine and put it right near your desk. I bought one of the portable models so its easy to move around.

Stepping builds up a really fast sweat. Its also good to get your circulation going from sitting a lot.

czarina 02-27-2006 06:03 PM

every body can. As long as you are serious about it!

tristan_D 02-27-2006 06:15 PM

do you have the determination?

there goes your answer

How tall are you, joel?

reynold 02-27-2006 06:27 PM

Just observe that strict and balance diet formula man with daily exercise. It's either you will do that or you'll just stick on that weight.

Goodluck. :pimp

Sharky 02-27-2006 06:39 PM

Joel -

You can do it man. In August I set a goal of losing 15lbs in 1 month, I blew past it and lost about 30lbs. Since then I have lost over 100lbs. It's easy.. but it's not a diet. It's a lifestyle change.. That is food, excercise and a total change in attitude. I was 350+ and am now just below 245. I have about 30-40lbs left to reach my goal:-)

If you need help or advice from someone who was in your position and lost, I'll be happy to talk to you. Hit me up on ICQ. I know motivation helps. WTS Ben helped me ( www.wtsbank.com ) as he was in this position before as well. Look for his posts for even more motivation.

Syl 02-27-2006 07:22 PM

If you are going for a quick loss try atkins. You can lose alot in a very short amount of time, but if you are looking for long term results then best to go w/ what the others say on changing your entire eating and excercise lifestyle. Good luck to you!!

nico-t 02-27-2006 07:26 PM

PixeLs 02-27-2006 08:41 PM

If there's a will, then there's definitely a way.

Just don't forget the exact diet and a regular exercise. :thumbsup

Spunky 02-27-2006 08:47 PM

You really can do this, Joel.....

Start out your day with some grapefruit juice, since your cholesterol is probably high.....a cup should do it, then drink your tea or coffee....keep water on your desk at all times...drink lots to flush out your system.

Eat every two to three hours .....chicken, fish and a little bit of lean meat per week....fibrous cereals like Red River or CreamofWest or oatmeal....

Stay away from the bad fats. Cook only with olive oil; better yet, broil or bake boneless skinless chicken breast....there are some marvelous fat free marinades that will give you some variety of taste...eat fresh fruits and veggies or lightly steamed....

And, take walks. Start with small walks and work up to bigger ones. Do crunches four times a week to start and planks..you can do them in your office....

Measure success in terms of a lifetime not a month and I promise you'll see results.

dude you sooo can do this...it's all about temptations and will power...set your goal and resist the evil temptations that are trying to stop you from reaching your goal k...i say evil temptations because anything trying to stop you from reaching your goal is EVIL

there are a lot of great tips in this thread from all your gfy peeps so write them down and do some research on them

you can do it bro

by the way...don't expect to see results daily or even in the first month...you can't fix a lifetime's worth of bad habbits in 1 month...be patient and work hard...trying to lose body fat is not a 1 month cylce...it's an "I WANT TO LOSE MY BODYFAT AND I WILL WORK AS LONG AS I NEED TO" commitment that takes mental power to stay focused on what you really want...what do you REALLY want?

DO NOT GIVE UP

if you ever feel like giving up...write to us...start a new thread...we will be your personal motivators!!!

adultvisitors 02-28-2006 01:30 PM

Eat whatever you like, but dont eat it too much and too often.
Thats the key!
Good Luck!

LittleSassy 02-28-2006 01:33 PM

sure you can;)

i recommend you to walk very often, goods for the heart too plus you'll lose some carbs. eat some healthy foods, avoid junk foods, or anything with preservatives. you can have a lot of tips here on gfy since you're not the only one who's on a dite right now...hehehe

good luck man! you can definitley do it!!:thumbsup

Mr Pheer 02-28-2006 01:35 PM

Just do what I did, buy a bowflex and an elliptical machine, and USE THEM. On my bowflex days (mon wed & fri) I do 20 minutes elliptical and then the bowflex workout, and on tues & thurs I do 45 minutes elliptical, along with cutting almost all the junkfood out of the diet, drinking 80 - 100 ounces of water a day, the pounds are just disappearing. I still have one 'cheat' day per week where I'll have a burger or a steak but thats it.

Take every soda in your house, and throw it in the trash. Then toss out the chips, candy, ice cream, and all the other stuff. Its easier to follow your diet if those kinds of foods arent even around.

A good fatburner like hydroxycut hardcore or something similar will help also.

Pornwolf 02-28-2006 01:36 PM

Maybe you can try the AIDS diet?

Lord Nelson 02-28-2006 01:36 PM

:smokin

Anthony 02-28-2006 01:38 PM

Jesus Joel, you really need to change your lifestyle.

Good luck buddy.

Abithefiend 02-28-2006 01:39 PM

Nothing tastes as good as slim feels. If you want to do it bad enough you will put in the action needed to accomplish your goal.

sh33p 02-28-2006 01:40 PM

I bought a recumbant exercise bike. Just have a cup of coffee and hop on that every morning. Dropped 12lbs in seven weeks. However, I changed my diet a lot and cut out the junk food and just eat more but less every day...ie. smaller meals several times a day.

imageman 02-28-2006 01:40 PM

A few questions. What are you eating and in what combination?
How often are you eating?
How many calories are you taking in?

Are you taking any supplements? Have you started cardio yet?

I remember, in the beginning, as my body began to rid itself of toxins, I was very tired.....and damned sore from training and cardio and new nutrition choices and a hefty decrease in calories.

DamageX 03-02-2006 11:52 AM

All I can say is... Start walking, fat boy.

EroticySteve 03-02-2006 11:55 AM

Create a plan, do your research, listen to your body and set attainable short-term goals on your way to your ultimate goal.

GlydeGirl 03-02-2006 12:08 PM

Hello Joel,

Lots of great responses from other GFY'ers about ways to lose the weight in a healthy and sustainable way. So, what is your plan? Have you put together a fitness and nutrition plan or are you trying to do this off-the-cuff?

The best way to succeed is to put a plan in place and also use a journal to record your daily food intake and exercise regimen. That way you'll be able to keep track of your progress, as well as go back and see what things work better for you in hindsight. I also recommend having one "cheat" day a week to indulge yourself. You'll find that your cheat day is a lifesaver, because you won't have to resist temptation forever, just for a few days before you can indulge.

sfera 03-02-2006 12:09 PM

just eat right and exersice, simple
