Saw 2

Awsome movie! I thought it was going to suck but it had me hooked for the entire movie. Very well shot. Alot of twists through the movie.
Crazy but cool. What do you guys think?

"while reading drama" insert rolling eyes smilie here

trix 02-26-2006 10:29 PM

Loved it. Trick endings rule. Definitely different than Saw 1, though.

PixeLs 02-26-2006 10:38 PM

Lots of adrenalin rushing scenes on this one. It's far more thrilling than the Ring I guess. :thumbsup

pornguy 02-26-2006 10:42 PM

Have not seen it yet, but when I see it in BB, I will grab it.

Sosa 02-26-2006 10:44 PM

1) watch movie with nagging wife ...or

2) fuck off online...

choice seemed simple lol :pimp

reynold 02-26-2006 11:48 PM

everybody in town says that Saw 2 is a good movie. im a bit hesistant to watch it. but hearing your opinions, i think i'll see the film now.

Sebastian Sands 02-27-2006 01:09 AM

Was a great movie.. some sick minds behind that stuff.. hehe

Devils_Child 02-27-2006 01:11 AM

I am a big fan of saw 1 and saw 2. I liked them. Allot of my friends didn't tho. Even tho the needle part, most of my friends didnt like. The fear of needles and imaging the pain that she most of went through. OUCH! I still love the end.

According to Tim Cogshell, to enjoy "Saw II," one must have enjoyed "Saw." This is a given. As to which is better, this is a fairly pointless question given how bad both of these movies are.

Nevertheless, "Saw II" is better by a cringe or two. Note for the record that neither of these movies are chilling and calculating at the level to which they aspire. Instead, they're fairly rote and plainly sadistic. The narrative is the standard punishment of the wicked scenario, as the droopy-eye serial mayhem engineer known as Jigsaw (Tobin Bell, reprising his role from the original film) puts his victims in compromising Catch-22s wherein their choices are horrible or more horrible. For instance, at the beginning of "Saw II," a character is given the choice of slicing out his own eye with a razor or having his head crushed in a medieval-looking device strewn with rusty nails. This is not a choice at all, of course; the prospect of salvation or redemption is not legitimate, so what is the point?

In any case, these situations are set up throughout the film, even as Jigsaw himself is captured early on by Detective Eric Mason (Donnie Wahlberg), whom he had been taunting with little messages that will also come to a bad end. The hook: Jigsaw has trapped Mason's teenage son Daniel (Erik Knudsen) along with seven other strangers in a house devised to wreak havoc on them and anyone who attempts to save them -- if they can even find them.

There is a lot to wince about in "Saw II," but the thing that should make you wince the most is having seen not only one, but two of these movies.

Most my friends didnt like the movie too. But i think everyone thinks that the needle scene is probably the worst. That was some sick shit. Aint it great? :thumbsup

I liked both Saw and Saw 2.
Is it true that the young producer of these movies was found dead in his hotel room couple of months ago? Did anybody else hear that?

Gregg Hoffman died in his home. He was 42. It sucked, just as he was really becoming a rising producing star, his life ended early.

Arrow has a great obit for him here:

btw, loved both Saw movies
sure, they were similar to Cube, but done really well and just damn good flicks (except Cary Elwes losing his American accent a bit towards the end)

Scott McD 02-27-2006 04:41 PM

I still haven't even watched the first one... :arcadefre

LoriAnderson 02-27-2006 04:48 PM

I guess I need to rent both of them this weekend.. haha saw1 & 2 since I havent seen the first one yet...

Vitasoy 02-27-2006 05:01 PM

It's getting very good reviews. 7.0/10 (17,278 votes)

opulence 02-27-2006 05:06 PM

Saw 1 is much better, it dominates because it was more of an original film... Saw 2... it's already been done

If you want to see a pretty impressive and extremely fucked up movie about someone going crazy after being imprisoned kind of similar to Saw, check out Oldboy, it's a foreign film, here's a trailer:

Biscuit4u 02-27-2006 05:16 PM

This is the one movie where I would recomend watching them back to back it just makes it so much better. They did a real good job of tying the 2 movies together.

tristan_D 02-27-2006 06:51 PM

definitely better than Hostel, the ending of which sucks.

DanniCashDan 02-27-2006 07:01 PM

I never saw SAW 1. I'm not the biggest fan of horror movies, but I've heard that this one is really good and very smart. I don't tho, because when it comes to gore I'm a chicken.
