BYOT is just AVS in disguise.
Over the years I have seen a lot of people knock AVS. I see these same people happy about BYOT programs.
Isn't it really the same thing? |

AVS you bring your own tour and content areas.
BYOT is typically a generated tour someone creates that promotes a sponsor controlled back end. |
they are similar, not the same though

You are comparing apples and bobsleds.

BYOTs kick ass.
|
not quite the same
|
Building the AVS tour & backend takes about the same amount of work building a decent BYOT. At the end of the day with both all you are doing is building a front end for the larger backend network that is full of sites and plugins.
Both have programs where you can get paid if someone sends a sale through your site. I just don't see why people piss on AVS but pledge thier love for BYOT. It's the same thing. |
there is nothing similar about them. With BYOT you simply make a tour that is different from the regular sponsor-designed tour, to attract surfers making them think it is a fresh site. With AVS, you simply protect a small area that you have put together yourself

Why not just start your own paysite? I first started with 4free type of sites and progressed to pay sites. Amazing the amounts of type in sales yet I never linked to the site without a tracking link. Makes you wonder how much these sponsors are making from type in sales and why they seriously enforce the "do not remove watermarks" rule.

No, it i the same thing. Sure, some people do make a small site that they use te AVS script to protect and bil their surfers... but the vast majority of folks just build targeted front ends (with only the required amount of content inside) to send traffic to the AVS network and get paid.
There's no difference. There's a little more functinality available to the AVS maker but at the end of the day you are still building a front end for the overall program. Actually, looking at the extreme rebills that AVS provides and the high payouts that sites like www.NetVerifier.com pays making the AVS sites makes more sense if you really want to buld something. Ya still gotta send your own traffic to your site/tour either way. |
AVS used to be major bank. Mad ratios around 1:50.

People Knock AVS's all the time, especially this board since its more of a TGP board. But its been over 10 years that I have been in the AVS biz and there are thousands of webmasters not knocking it, I promise you that.
Ratios have changed from the 1:50 but let me tell you, it's still pretty close. People don't change, they rather pay 24.95 for a two year access to a network of over 100,000 sites then 24.95 for one site for one month. It's not rocket science, it's been working for over a decade and I am proof of it because I see the daily sales on all three of our AVS's. CyberAge.com CyberSexNetwork.com and of course, 4 time CyberSocket Award Winner... UGAS.com It works guys, It just works. |
Frankly I think BYOT is just another idiotic way to milk some money out of the surfers while making them less and less likely to buy porn because they're afraid of being scammed... Think about it beyong the quick buck you might be making. All these BYOT "sites", have different names etc. but lead to the exact same backend. How many times will a surfer be tricked into signing up to the same site before they stop signing up to anything. Just another idiotic idea to get some quick bucks without any thought to the long term consequences.
At least with AVS/AEN you got a "real" site and then all the others. |
Yeah, it does.
Lemme borrow your Lamborghini next time I'm in town Dave. ;) |
