The ultimate rock star?
I was thinking today that there aren't many real rock stars around in music today and if there is they were probably around 20+ years ago too.
I'm not talking the best musical talent but rather somebody that fits the persona of a rock star. I think I am giving my vote for the ultimate rock star to Robert Plant. Your vote? |

Although way different in style and approach than Plant, my vote would go to Marilyn Manson. Highly contemporary, highly controversial, high-profile. Not sure you need a lot more than that.

I gotta go with Gene

Oh, and I think Dave Coverdale could give Plant a good run for the money.

Axl Rose had the world in the palm of his hands.

I think Steven Tyler of Aerosmith would take that title currently.

hmm, some good suggestions, but how about David Lee Roth? Maybe over the hill now, but back in the day, he was the ultimate frontman...when he took that stage, it was HIS stage.

I must admit........being an old geezer who grew up in the late 70's that back in "the day" there was no better front man for a Rock Group than Diamond Dave! He played the part to the MAX! :thumbsup |

Surprised no one has mentioned Keith Richards.
I can't imagine that dude doing/being anything other than a rock star. Next in line is a toss-up between Ozzy, Roth or Plant in their heyday. |
