    Server guys / Hosting companies

    Lets say you have site (x) at theplanet datacenter, they go down this morning, & now one of your servers is only reachable to about 50% of surfers due to a routing issue....

    Lets say theplanet is telling your tech theres nothing they can do...blah blah

    Whats the quickest move to make to salvage the site within 12 hours & have it back up...assuming you have access to a backup of the site/script.

                      Most name server changes are done within a couple hours.

                      Just sign up for a new host, upload, and within a couple hours you could back in action.

                      To be safe manage your dns with a another company and change the i.p., this will change within a couple hours for sure.

                      Or make a name server fail over. Have the third name server pointing to the back up company in case the others fail and if it does then move there quickly almost no downtime. If their dns fails to name server three then you should switch anyways.
