Launching A Cash Programme ???

Ok I know I will proberly get flammed and called a newbie... but I am going to ask the question anyways...

I am about to launch a new cash programme for someone, it will only have one site on it initially...

There is a limited advertising budget, I am thinking somewhere around $7000 which I know aint going to set the world on fire... But I am thinking how best to spend this money, yes I have my own ideas, but wondered if anyone else would make some suggestions...

This will have to be spread over several things... first I am going to use some for exposure of the programme on some of the major webmaster boards (no names mentioned but definetly GFY) but obviously this is expensive, so will be limited exposure :)

Secondly an affilaite contest, am thinking about $2000 in prizes...

And lastly purchased traffic... Dont think i can afford key spots on big tgps, as this would pretty much kill my budget, but maybe buy a shed load of traffic, my worry is I have heard a lot of these traffic brokers are just serving hit bot traffic, instead of genuine traffic :(

Anyways any suggestions ??? And yes this is a open opportunity for people to SPAM me their traffic codes and other referral ideas...

Thanks

Steve

IMHO 2000$ is way more than you need to run an affiliate contest.. 250$ first place, and then 50$ for second to fourth place would be more than enough to keep the peeps that participate in the contests happy..

I would spend my money building great promo material.. RSS feeds, multiple ways to export galleries, xml feeds with galleries.. Stuff that would make your site easy to promote..

I usually don't take on new clients anymore, but I could cook up a few scripts if the $$$ is there..

andrej_NDC 02-23-2006 06:16 PM

You dont need any advertising to make a good program. Buy traffic for those $7k, affiliates will find you...

Ppl should invest less in advertising, and more in the paysites. Imo good sites is the best advertising.

Also, when your budget is small, why not start with a small site,(maybe under avs on your own domain) sell it, tweak it, and when you do like nice sales increase the content. And at the point you have a lot(or very HQ) start your own site.

Just my 2 cents

The company I am doing this for is pretty big, but big outside of the web, and the web interaction is new to them... they aint willing to throw mad money at it... but the sites are already done... it's hard to explain :)

They did a site called www.CandyCrib.com and they make sales I guess in a different way from the usual paysites... we are creating a more traditional paysite version called CandyMansion... The design will be very hot...

The site is basically 8 hot models (and trust me I do mean hot) in a luxury flat (hot tub, pole dancing, girlie fun!) There is already a tonn of video, live webcam shows, 24/7 voyeur cams, and daily updates... So it's a pretty big site :)

As I said just workign out how to uterlise the advertising budget to best attract affilaites, traffic, and ultimitely sales :)
