Verizon Blackberry 7130 or PCMCIA EVDO card?

I just picked up the Blackberry 7130 so that i can use it to connect to my laptop while on the road. I didn't get the $15/month "tether" option turned on thinking there was a way to do it otherwise.

Anyone using the 7130 with their laptop on verizon network?

Better to just get the pcmcia card and connect via the card?

any input is greatly appreciated as i need to decide which approach to go.

I just ordered the Sierra wireless card with Sprint but haven't received it yet. I beta tested the service with Nextel when they were thinking about introducing it. The speed and connection was amazing.

I haven't personally used a phone/Blackberry to connect. Since you already have the Blackberry, test it out for a month.

I've got the card with Verizon. You can connect almost anywhere but its hardly broadband speeds. forget about up or downloading anything with it

I use a Blackberry 7280 as a modem for my laptop the odd time.

Works great but Bobby is right, it sure sucks for uploading and downloading anything.

Cell networks are on the verge of getting broadband speeds - this will be a real option for surfing in the next few years.
