Why the HELL do people own cellphones if...
 

they only answer it once a week?

jeeeeesus that one pet peeve of mine, when people continuously do not answer their cellphones.

I'm the same way....people have to email the Blackberry if they wanna get in touch with me.

i pay for it. i answer it when i want.

I don't answer mine unless I recognize the number. Sometimes not even then - just like my home phone ;)

Cell phones suck...text message them. You'll probaly get a quicker response.

i agree, text is 100x better. you dont have to drop everything to talk to them. you can wait a few minutes if you want to. it kind of backfires when you text people and instead of texting you back they just call you.

If I don't know the number, I generally don't answer it. I prefer people to send me an SMS or email to my cell instead half the times since the volume on my cell isn't that great.

A phone has two functions to Make calls and to Receive calls... nothing says you have to use it for both. I like to be able to make a call from anywhere, I don't necessary need to receive them.

They just tell you that so it won't hurt your feelings:)

I have 2 cell phones. One for business and one for personal use. If I answered my business cell phone everytime, I'd be doing nothing but sitting on the phone all day long. I found the same problem with ICQ. The minute you go on everybody wants to talk. I love talking but it kills your time productivity.

E-Mail is the best way to communicate and everything is documented that way so you can remember and keep track of your back and forth communications.

Those beeping walky talky motherfuckers are the worst. Fuck everyone who uses that bullshit. What the fuck is the point, just call the motherfucker.

Guilty. If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. E-mail, IM, and text message are the best ways to reach me.

I answer my phone everytime, you don't know when it is an emergency, it has happened to me that a friend or my girlfriend had to call me from a phone number that I don't know.

my father is tipically the person who'd never answer his mobile as he either doesn't hear when it rings or accidentally presses the red button because he doesn't know how to handle these kind of things... so annoying really :upsidedow

i screen my cell calls, it's fucking annoying getting like 50 calls a day from people who have nothing to do and just assume you have nothing to do but listen to then rant about something you don't give a fuck about. i just want to work leave me the fuck alone i don't care about what you're eating for lunch or doing this weekend.

So just because you have decided that now would be a good time for you to call me, means that I should stop everything that I am doing and listen to what you think is important? Fuck that. If I am busy, you're getting voicemail. And if you call again within the same morning or same afternoon, I'll call you back in about a week. Leave ONE message and I'll call you back when *I* have time.

I really hate how people seem to think that they are the most important thing on my plate and that when they call, I should answer.

i used to miss alot of my calls when cell was in my pocket, the vibrate wasn't strong enough that i would feel it against my leg.

I answer my cellphone, but sometimes I simply put it somwhere in the house and totally forget about it, so I return calls like a day or two later.

That's why I have a house phone so that the people that really need to talk to me can call ;)

i answer my cell 90% of the time. if its an unknown/private id, then i dont answer it. but if you're in my cell, and im not sleeping, i'll answer it.

what he said. Just because a person has my number, doesn't mean I have to answer his/her calls.

i dont understand why people have cellphones AND a blackberry. that, to me, is not logical especially if one lives off their blackberry.

if i missed a call, i try to send them an SMS message to call me back.

Same here. Those of any importance know my blackberry email and on the go im screennames.

its on 24-7 here........ alot of cash has been made from taking calls when others dont in the same biz.

I knew I guy who was sitting at home all days long and he had a cellular to receive phone call .. what a waste of money !

I have two friends that are like that. When we hang out I ask, 'Where's your phone?' and they say, "In the backseat or they don't know."

Some people just don't get the whole communication thing.

Last night my wife and daughter went shopping. I tried to call the wife, straight to voice mail. So I called the kid, she gives her cell phone to the wife. I was like why is you phone off? She said it's not it's dead. So I was like why are you carrying a dead cell phone? And she starts giving me lip. WTF bitch! I charge my phone.

I hate that modern technology means you are never allowed to be uncontactable. There is some value in escaping everyone for an hour or so. It all started with the answering machine that taught us that just because a phone rings it has to be answered.
