Need adobe premier pro 1.5 help (black borders)

Seems like when i edit a video it save it in wmv format, the video seems to have a large black border around it. So if you make it full screen, the video will only show up for half the screen and the area around it is black, which is part of the video.

Any ideas on how to disable this border thing or what i need to do to remove it?

are you sure the project setting size matches the video size... also try to check the box that says stretch to match project size(or something like that) if you want the project size to be bigger than the video clip size

also you can play with the aspect ratio.. if its not 1:1 try that, might help ya

yeah, the video size didn't match the project size settings

make a custom project when you start up premiere and set it to whatever the wmv file video size is

you can also click on the preview screen in premiere and click and drag the video so it is fitting the screen

and you can also adjust the MOTION>SCALE to fit your screen

sounds like the video got letterboxed

nope, just wrong size

premiere does it all the time, you either have to scale the source video to fit the preview or you have to set it in the settings when you start up to be the right size

Hey guys,

I really appreciate all the accurate responses :)

Yeah, I was opening the project with the wrong size. I was looking all over to change this and couldn't find it.

For the search users, when I open up a project, I didn't see the other tab called 'custome settings'. In there you can actually change the size of the frame size. Seems like you have change the editing mode to 'videos for windows'.

Once again thanks for the help guys.
