Sony HDV HDR-FX1E specialist

Hi all,

We are countering a problem with capturing the tapes to Adobe Premiere 2.0

The capture device could not be recognized.

The PC is seeing the camera, we can rewind the tape and so on but there is no preview picture and the capture button is unavailable.

On the adobe page they are writing that the camera is supported.
Do we need an add-on like http://www.cineform.com/index.htm

Please some feedback, thanks in advange

I wish I could give you more input on this problem with Adobe.

I use Vegas6 with the HDR-FX1 and its seemless.

All works perfect in capturing.

GOOD LUCK

U better ude Pinnacle Studio for capturing your HD video.
We ude it for our SONY HDR FX-1. Or u need to change your video card on a board, problem could be because of it, we had the same problems!
good luck!:thumbsup

for capturing we use Premiere 1.51 and the MainConcept Mpeg encoder as a plugin. that works. make sure the camera output is set accordingly (dv/hdv)

Did you have the camera turned off when you started PPro2.0, then turned on the camera? Premiere is pretty fickle sometimes when it comes to detecting a firewalled device and if you have the camera turned on already when you start Premiere sometimes that causes problems.
