Would it be unethical to sell ad space on my baby?

I have a beautiful 8 month old baby, and I was thinking on selling ad space on him (on his cloths, stroller, even temporary non-toxic tattoos).
Would it be unethical?
The money would go to his college fund.

3M TA3 02-22-2006 01:04 PM

make sure you grab a 30% management fee

G-Rotica 02-22-2006 01:15 PM

Hell no. Ad space is sold on everything else. As long as you don't tattoo him you're good to go.

After Shock Media 02-22-2006 01:17 PM

Fantastic, I can just see it now. A baby covered in ads that say "My daddy didnt use a Trojan".

adultchica 02-22-2006 01:18 PM

HOly shit :1orglaugh

a 3 year old has more "advertising space surface" so you may get more money than my 8 month old ;)

If I were you I wouldn't do it. Can you imagine telling him?

"Oh yeah, from the age of 8 months to 2 years you walked around with a huge fleshlight advertisement printed on your ass."

I know what my reaction would be, it may or may not be ethical, but it would fucking piss me off if either of my parents had done that to me as a child. They'd have defaced a national treasure.

Violetta 02-22-2006 02:07 PM

Metallica tattoo in the forehead! lol... no, jk!

As long as you give him a normal childhood, it will be alright!

smashface 02-22-2006 02:17 PM

I wouldn't sell anything permanent, illegal, offensive or adult in nature on a baby - but the rest could be fair game.

minusonebit 02-22-2006 02:21 PM

You're gonna spend a shitload supporting him/her, so why not get some of it back?

How much will spots go for, BTW?

yes, but imagine his reaction when he is heading off to college and he has 10 or 20K in his bank account. He wouldn't be pissed at all, and he wouldn't care at all what he wore when he was an infant, as long as the money is all for him (and it will be). Personally, I have nothing against advertising porn on him, as long as there are no adult images, but a logo and a slogan, why not? He lives off of porn, so he better appreciate this industry!

czarina 02-22-2006 02:25 PM

by the way, I went ahead and put it on eBay. Let's see what happens ;)

Splum 02-22-2006 02:30 PM

Wheres the auction link? I am inspired.

You're leaving yourself wide open for a world of trouble with your bold text, "No matter what your product is, my baby will advertise it!"

pornguy 02-22-2006 02:58 PM

oh boy! oh oh oh boy!

czarina 02-22-2006 02:59 PM

I don't care... it's true, no matter what the product, my baby will advertise it. As long as it is not ilegal, why not?
Notice that it doesn't say "no matter what the imagery"... even if it is a gagging site saying something like "My daddy made me watching a DVD from whatevergaggingsite.com", why not?

G-Rotica 02-22-2006 03:05 PM

$20k a little much

StatsJunky 02-22-2006 03:05 PM

I never would personally. Maybe if it was clothing or something that someone offered to pay my baby to wear.

I would also suggest being careful with the wording of your ebay ad....

I missed this comment before. Personally, I think there is something horribly wrong with advertising porn on a baby. It's one thing to make money off porn to support your children, but using your children to advertise porn is another story. Where are you going to draw the line? What if the auction winner wants to advertise "I want to get fucked in the ass at assfucker.com?" Do you really think that's okay? :helpme

czarina 02-22-2006 03:13 PM

it is clothing, or a sign on his stroller, or stuff like that. It's not like I will brand my kid.
Do I have issues? May be, but I wish my parents had done that for me, so that I didn't have to pay for college myself. Unfortunately, my parents didn't have issues :(

Amen :thumbsup

czarina 02-22-2006 03:14 PM

Orgasmics: you have a point. No, I will not put something like that on him... So, let me go change the wording on ebay. BRB :)

After Shock Media 02-22-2006 03:15 PM

How can the bidder ensure they are getting the proper exposure each day?

czarina 02-22-2006 03:17 PM

done! I changed the wording, now it reads:
"Open to non-baby related products as well... So get creative ;) "
instead all products... is that better?

czarina 02-22-2006 03:18 PM

I take him out to go to the park every day, plus shopping, to the supermarket, etc.
And if they want to sign a contract stating that he has to be out x amount of hours a day, why not? (as long as it is reasonable and it doesn't affect his eating or sleeping schedule)... He loves being out of the house, so he will have a blast.

That still doesnt change anything. Just the simple fact you would consider useing your 8 month old baby to advertise a porn site is sick, disgusting and im sure illegal.

czarina 02-22-2006 03:26 PM

nope, it is not illegal, as long as there are no adult images being displayed. It may not be ethical, but think about it this way: call it porn or call it sex, we wouldn't be here (and I don't mean on GFY, I mean on Earth) if it weren't for it.
So why is it so horrible?

czarina 02-22-2006 03:27 PM

anyway, don't worry about it, most likely it is not porn what he will end up advertising, so why jump the gun so fast?
I will post here if anything comes out of it. Probably it will something like Target or something like that...

Are there any rules to this thing? More I think about it, couldnt this be a bad thing as far as the porn industry trying to avoid being associated with pedos?

PixeLs 02-22-2006 06:40 PM

As long as there's no harm done to him when doing that (which I don't think you would allow), then it's ok. :)

Splum 02-22-2006 07:36 PM

This is a bad idea for those associated in the porn business, I mean imagine if the press gets a hold of this?

sumphatpimp 02-22-2006 07:55 PM

before this goes any further, I think you should see a lawyer.
this can get you into alot of hotwater.
if the over zealous child protection services people got wind of this they could take you to court and paint you as lunatic and you could lose coustody of your kid.

MT_Butterfly 02-22-2006 08:05 PM

What's wrong with good old-fashioned hard work and saving some of that money for the baby's college fund? You can easily save 20K for his college fund to hand over to him by the time he's 18. That's a little over 1K a year to save for him and if invested properly can easily yield much more than 20K.

I, personally would never sell ad space on my baby to pay for his/her college fund or for any other reason. I have 4 kids, with 2 in college right now and it's not easy but I manage. You have such a beautiful baby boy and eBay is ripe for creeps and pedo's so be verrrry careful with what you do there. Just posting his picture on eBay could get some wierdo's attention...I'm not judging you or trying to bash you but there are better alternative's for saving for college than exposing your baby this way.

No matter what happens, I wish you the best of luck. You truly do have a beautiful baby!
