The Olympics Have Jumped the Shark
 

I can't watch this borefest - I remember when the Olympics were huge - each Olympics, summer and winter, would produce superstars that became household names and celebs - when I was in grade school every other little girl had their hair cut the same as Dorothy Hamill. I think the 500 channel universe, the Internet and the end of the Cold War has pretty much sunk the Olympics. There are no bad guys anymore - unless somebody can get some skates and ski equipment to Al Quaeda.

I have enjoyed the Olympics, but not as much as in previous years. The speed skating has had good drama!

I think NBC has spent too much time on human interest stories and not enough time on games. In the past you could see bits and pieces of many sports at night, now we only get three sports with half the time spent on background.

Given the ratings, maybe NBC will learn its lesson...
