Helped. The vast majorty of people that were ranting and raving about it wouldn't have been promoting them in the first place, and won't do a damn thng about it either. It's easy to post on a board and that's all most people do. But it was mass exposure and I'm sure they got a bunch of new recruits.

Are you a content producer? or are you cybernetbucks? Because I'm sure if I looked I'd find how you're just as much of a hypocrit, turning a blind eye to theft within your own house. But that doesn't matter to you because even though you allow the theft you probably make some money from it. Explain that double standard to your kids my friend.

I was looking at the site of one of the most outspoken "righteous" guys yesterday and he was exchanging links in multiple places with a site that promotes Guba... Hypocrits.

GUBA is easy to spot. How many sites deal in browser hijacking, spam, exploits, worms, etc that you can't just look up? Spam and spyware are a huge part of this industry and many programs that the upstanding citizens would never imagine. I'd say 99% of people here do business with those they find unethical. Pure comedy.

So none of the affiliates are breaking the TOS and using more content than you supply for their use? Are they licensed to host that content on their own servers? Does anyone check if they're being stolen from or do you just ignore it because it's making you money? hmmmmm.. Does cybnernet ever audit their affilaites to see what pages al those hits are coming from? I should look thru my databases and see if any of your content is being hosted on sites that actually don't have a license.. Or better yet, how many of the cybernet affiliates also promote Guba??? Are they going to put that in their TOS that no one can promote Guba? But you really don't care do you.. As long as it's making you money to take care of the kids that you're teaching that 2 rights don't make a wrong. So come on.. Put up or shut up. If you're truly so offended then cut everyone off that's promoting or doing business with Guba in one form or another.

Cybernet Entertainment are producers of their own original content for at least a half dozen of their own sites - and that is the content we affiliate with.

I'm not about to play 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon with every affiliate in the industry to track who does and doesn't have affiliations with Guba. If you have that kind of free time to play Perry Mason, knock yourself out. I couldn't give a shit. That's their business, not mine. Since the only content that appears on our sites from Cybernet affiliate accounts is produced specifically by them in their own San Francisco studios, that's our concern...nothing more. It does not affect us in any way, shape or form. The licensed content we feature from Cybernet is wholly owned and copyrighted - by Cybernet. Our business relationship is a straight line between us and Cybernet. It is not a triangle.

As for "affecting our bottom line" - I'm assuming you're infering that we only keep them as affiliates because of the revenue.

Although they are among the very best...they aren't the only game in town...and we could likely do just as well with other programs. Revenue isn't the primary motivating factor in the equation.

We have been affiliated with Peter and Tony of Cybernet for many years (in fact, our earliest is account #302 in a sequence that now reaches over 10k) - and our mutual loyalty is born of that longtime business affiliation and trust in their excellent and unique products and shared personal interests in the genres for which they produce.

What they do outside our business relations is their affairs and does not affect us - as it shouldn't. Do I support any affiliations they may have with Guba? Of course not. But that has no bearing on our relationship with them.

Get it? Got it?

Good.

This has definitely hurt them. The few affilliates they might have picked up in no way offsets the amount of legal trouble they have picked up.
