Why did no one complain when GUBA sponsored the players ball???

just wondering - it has been also money that has been earned with the content of the people participating...

and btw - that's what I wrote on December 14th, 2005:

Quote:

i liked you more when we met in Miami once while you were still working with AFF - and i do believe that you are a nice person. but you did the choice to work for GUBA - a company, that makes the stealing of copyright protected content easier for the noobs out there, that usually are too dumb to use Newsgroups. And your company decided to make a bigger business out of it than just the others, like Supernews or Uncensored News, that just give access to Newsservers - the stuff, dumb surfers do not understand anyways.

and all this strongly interferes my business - cause i sell content to make a living. this is why i think GUBA sucks. end of story

actually i feel sorry for you, i'm not sure if you knew this when you decided to work for them. if you did, and are doing this on purpose, i take back the sorry part of my speech.

thank you - and good luck

i'm positive no one really cared enough to look at that point.

now that the cats out and all the details are on the table people are taking notice as you can see.

FREDISME is the andrew-ibill of guba. poor guy.

threw him to the wolves to maintain the presence.

i think had darren known all this he probably wouldn't have accepted them to sponsor an event where there were 100's of content producers in attendance.

i don't speak for people so i'll let him address that.

jacked 02-21-2006 02:09 PM

i don't think everyone knew what was going on to tell you the truth and if they did i guess they were just ignoring it... GUBA is something that hurts us all not just the content producers or the sponsors but even the affiliates...

i guess the right amount of money will make anyone turn a blind eye...

So do you think their Dollars stink? :winkwink:

The Sultan Of Smut 02-21-2006 02:12 PM

Nobody bitched because:

1) Nobody really cared who sponsored the event just as long as it happend.
2) See #1.

:2 cents:

I would say that is fairly accurate... lol.

Still, you have to admit, there is a small glimmer of hope when people in this industry start to come together on somethig for a change. I mean, one person here could say the sky is blue, and 50 people would disagree.

I never knew what GUBA actually was until today... I imagine that I am not alone :)

it would be interesting to hear. but i would also like to state that i totally appreciate all the efforts that were made to make the Players Ball happen and that it was a great event. this posts intention is more to show that we have to be more aware of what we are doing - and not to bash DMoneys and KBizzles great work :thumbsup

cool1g 02-21-2006 02:41 PM

QuaWee 02-21-2006 02:46 PM

It's very gray here. I understand it's black in almost half the world at this very moment.

Sup MaDalton.

We had a few people make the same comments as you're hearing lately, back then around the Players Ball.

I really didn't know anything about Guba when they approached me about a sponsorship. I've checked out their site since, but still haven't totally poked around or got a membership there.

First off, I'm 100% against "stolen" content. My take back then is still the take I have right now. If a site is stealing content or people make accusations that they are, it's not my job to be the police officer and dig deeper, unless it's my content being ripped off. So when people say there is stolen stuff in there and I hear Guba say they will kill off any links to stolen content when notified, sounds like they want to police their site and do the right thing. They provide a cool tool for the surfer when things are 100% legit. My question is, when Guba is notified about content being stolen, have they taken the right actions to remove it? I don't have any answers.

I do like Lesbodojo very much, she's a professional and a sweatheart. Guba was a great sponsor of the Players Ball and made sure their guests had the time of their lives. So my professional experience with them was a great one.

And to be honest, I haven't been reading many threads on GFY lately. So I'm not up on what's going on with the recent Guba threads other then I see there are a ton of them. I was sent this link when my name popped up.

BV 02-21-2006 07:08 PM

The Power of GFY is the reason.

This is a fucked up place but this place can be justice at it's finest!

thank you - well, see threads like: fucking-around-and-business-discussion/578659-official-thebestporn-rabbitsreviews-reply-guba.html

basic thing is: although their service might be a good idea, they make money from providing other peoples exclusive content. without paying them. that is a well known fact to some since a while already, since yesterday probably everyone knows.

Alex 02-21-2006 07:47 PM

I think it has something to do with the fact that only 1% of GFYers attended players ball.
