I have vmware running 24/7, have ran Chameleon, Dream, and Advanced Submitter on it, although right now I just use it for poker and StatsRemote.

mmm I would think you could use it with wine...I used a lot of simple MFC or VB apps under wine without a problem....

The only app I have problems with are higher end things like iTunes, FlashFXP (wont work for a stupid reason...)...

I say install Wine and grab Sidenet Wine Config tool (http://sidenet.ddo.jp/winetips/config.html )...Sidenet will install some required fonts, Internet Explorer etc... Then make sure you install MDAC, and the usual libraries...(VB runtime Libs etc etc..) then try to run it...if there is a DLL missing you will probably get an error msg with the name of the DLL, search for it in google, install it, rince and repeat ;)... I was able to get a bunch of app to work that way!

Any tips for getting something using Microsft-specific Java to run under wine? :)

yeah: Don't even try ;)
