Who here uses Thunderbird?

I'm noticing that when people reply back to my messages the spacing and alignment on the orginal message I sent out looks bad. Anyone know why?

betsy! 02-20-2006 10:14 PM

not me! you're crazy. ;) no wonder your email is always so funky lookin. :P

com 02-20-2006 10:17 PM

i do, and I haven't had any issues. Are you running the latest version? I also mostly send out my emails in text only. But either way, I've never had an issue.

Anthony 02-20-2006 10:17 PM

Haven't had that problem bro.

Peaches 02-20-2006 10:22 PM

I use it and haven't had a problem. I know sometimes when I respond it gives me 3 options of sending in plain text and/or HTML.

But to be honest, I've long given up on any emails looking the same after they've been responded to - too many people have too many different programs. If I can read it, I figure I've won the war ;)

KRL 02-20-2006 10:23 PM

I use it. No problem like that.

Penthouse Tony 02-20-2006 10:25 PM

i sent something recently that was a bullet point list. When I saw the reply it was all one paragraph of loose sentances. I felt bad because the receiver had to break everything up into bullet points again to understand it.

hmmm... i'm not running the most current version. I'll have to upgrade and see if that is the fix.

reed_4 02-21-2006 12:18 AM

I haven't tried it yet but I would give it a shot. :)

loverboy 02-21-2006 12:50 PM

I use Thunderbird, but I only ever send email in plain text. HTML is just so problematic.

Wizzo 02-21-2006 02:29 PM

HTML mail is a crime against humanity.

Pornwolf 02-21-2006 03:44 PM

Text emails only.

*Make
*your
*bullet
*points
*manually

so you won't have any problems. Sending any html formatted emails is like asking for readibility issues.

Tools -> Options -> Composition

Make sure there's a "0" in "Wrap plain text messages at .. characters".

minusonebit 02-21-2006 05:17 PM

I use it, that problem is usually caused by people using Microsoft products, they always like to use these wierd charsets.

Ramos 02-21-2006 05:20 PM

had 72 I changed it to 0 lets see if that fixes it.

Spunky 02-21-2006 06:51 PM

Never had any luck with it ,so I dumped it

ServerGenius 02-21-2006 07:00 PM

make sure it sends mail as text only check the fonts don't use the variable
font width....just fixed. Else the size and spacing changes all the time.

Check all the options coz the font and text stuff has options in more than 1 of the tabs. Also make sure you got the same settings for each account if you use multiple accounts.

Hope this helps if not then I'll check for ya where to change these settings
exactly.

u-Bob 02-21-2006 07:22 PM

use "the bat!" instead :)

fetishblog 02-21-2006 07:35 PM

I'm using it, but only for another 24 hours until the MX record for my domain catches up and I start using Gmail for my domain. :)

sniperwolf 02-21-2006 08:15 PM
