anyone use rack shack? any comments or complaints would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you have to manage your own server. If you have a friend or paid admin it's probably a good deal. Just becareful if you have harware failure.

Really low prices, semi-ok network, really bad support.

Go with www.cologroup.com instead.

I recently picked up a box over at Rackshack for my AVS sites since they were having one helluva a sale! 1.7 ghz, 1gig of ram and dual hd's for $129... Can't beat that! For the first couple of weeks they were extremely helpful. I didn't need any handholding so they worked ok for me. They offer support via ICQ, Chat & Phone so someone is always accessable. I haven't been with them for long & I haven't experienced downtimes yet so I can't tell you how they react to them. But I expected the support to be much worse!

If you need someone who understands what you do and can offer specific help you might be safer going with Jason since he has some great prices and seems to be pretty accessable, or one of the other regulars on GFY.

I was looking at rackshack for my hosting purposes, but even their salespersons had problems answering my questions, so i hate to experience the tec. support.

i went with cologroup instead, just got the mail that my account was setup, i can't recommend them as of yet since i havent started using 'em, but jason was extreamly helpful on icq answering all my questions about there services..

With www.cologroup.com, it is $200 for the server and $100 for either 200 Gigs Transfer or 1 MBps. We have true 24/7 support and the admins will do a lot of admin work included in our price. You also get remote reboot, webalizer stats for domains, and a bunch of the other stuff adult webmasters are looking for.

If you need a company that will do the admin work and give you a great price, Cologroup is the place to be.
