DVD Camcorders. Who owns one?

A good friend of mine is in the market for a DVD Camcorder and asked for my help. Since I am pretty clueless about DVD camcorders I figured I would see if any of you have recommendations or know about them. This is the model he is leaning towards:
Canon DC20 2.2 MP DVD Camcorder

I also need to know since these cameras record to DVD, is there an issue with NTSC or PAL compatibilty?

Sony DCR-DVD403

a few month ago and pretty happy with it so far

Sony DCR-DVD405 is the one I have and it's excellent!
