Is it just me or are the Winter Olympics boring as fuck this year?

Remember the good old days when they used to switch around to all the events, and didn't do all this stupid fucking 5 minute profile shit?

Ever since they started letting pros in the the Olympics it's gone to shit. I think it would spice shit up if you only allowed amateurs, and if those amateurs were only allowed to compete in the Olympics once, that way it's Do or Die would make it more intense.

The worlds needs more curling support.

I agree, just isn't the same feeling this time around. But I do love Men's hockey

It's better for us in the US and similar time zones when it's closer to our time zones.They'll show things live in 4 years hopefully.

I lost interest in it years ago..I tune in for hockey and that's it

I am enjoying them for the most part. I kind of have given up on Mens hockey though. To many pros making it a NHL allstar type competition.

The rest is pretty interesting though. Still plenty to go.

i still prefer summer olympics over the winter version.

Although I'm more interested in the Summer Olympics (as are most Americans since that is where we kick ass), I still enjoy watching the Winter Olympics every night during prime time. I just avoid news sites during the day so I don't find out who wins in advance....I like it to be a surprise, lol.

i love the olympics but it seems to be losing its appeal to the masses - people just aren't interested anymore it seems which is a real shame - they miss major fuck-ups like the snowboarder chick that blew the gold medal the other day showing off

Yes I do fine them boring. Ice dancing had a lot of falls yesterday though and I missed it damn it.

Winter and Summer Olympics are both exciting competitions that showcase the skills of our athletes.

Well I'm over here in the Philippines and its not exactly a bastion of winter sports enthusiasts over here. As a matter of fact, no coverage whatsoever except brief snipets on CNN and BBC.
And if you try to look at highlights on www.nbcolympics.com, a message pops up saying viewing is allowed in the US only.
Any suggestions by any of you clever people? Like Chris Rock once said about Stevie Wonder, give the nigga a peek!

In winter sports? Its not that earth shattering. But in the summer games, it would be cause for attention.:winkwink:

eveything is happening in the middle of the night...if the timezone was similar people would be into it like always

Well we don't have snow and ice here every year. Also we don't have any mountains at all...

As fasr as summer olympics, we are even there one of the top countries. Funny but true:)

It fucking sucks. Boring as hell, and stupid sports...

but it needs to be supported by people

agreed, they should kick out the pros and return it just to amateurs, give these new athletes an opportunity to showcase their talent so that there is always fresh new talent coming along that can keep the sports themselves active and interesting

the Olympics should be about love of the sport and those who AREN'T paid to perform the sport, just those who do it because of the sport itself :2 cents:

if we dont want to go out into the snowy outdoors, why do we want to watch people play in it?
