These people were roaming around chopping each others heads off 100 years ago and in 100 years when the oil is gone they'll go back to doing that too. If it wasn't for oil in the Middle East, we wouldn't care about anything over there.

See, and here I was thinking that it was gonna be Bush that was gonna start the next world war. Funny how people are willing to die for an offensive cartoon. You know, I see offensive cartons in the paper all the time. Usually, one of them is endorising some crook for office. I cant remember when the last time was that I wanted to die in protest of said cartoon.

Time magazine for this week had an excellent article on the timeline of the whole affair. It certainly cleared up some points and showed how easily this could have been resolved, but wasn't.
