possible to turn off Registrar-Hold ?

I am trying to let go of a domain to someone that has expired 4 days ago.

how long does he have to wait to be able to buy it, and can I disable this? or do I need to buy it again and than let him transfer it?

your gonna have to wait atleast 72 days possibly longer, and your registrar might pick up the domain depending on what it is....

you could always pay the fee to get it out of the hold period but it's usually somewhere around $150-200 to do it...

Yeah try to renew it then transfer - if it expired then it's no longer yours to give, but maybe the registrar will let you renew without reaming you with service fees

um, there should be no "$150-$200" fine for renewing in Registrar-Hold status. This is very common, and that's why there is Registrar-Hold for 30 days, then Redemption Period for another 45 days and finally Pending Delete for 6 days.

It should cost you the domain registration fee, or renewal fee which is usually a few bucks.

If the registrar is some shitty reseller of a reseller though you might have problems.
