Dreamhost looks pretty good - Any reps around?
 

I like what I'm reading about dreamhost for my little spot in the industry.

Anyone have any comments? Any know any reps that can get me set up?

I'm just needing something for a few simple blogs. To answer your question, the price is one of the big things I like.

Of course I have a bunch more questions for a rep, but it doesn't seem that is going to happen. I havn't ruled out alternatives, any suggestions?

why don't you just email them. dreamhost is pretty much a mainstream web hosting company and mainstream companies don't spend time on adult boards

Thats a pretty good point. I might better go with someone who I can get in touch with easily. It might cost a little more, but I won't have to start another thread like this again.

You might want to go for Adult EU Host. Not that cheap but still, they have nice packages! And hellah fast...

I use them for some sites and they're okay but I wouldn't suggest using them for anything vital. They're like lunarpages in the way that they sometimes yank sites off their servers without warning. your important sites should be hosted elsewhere imho.

Do you have an ICQ contact for them?

Been with them for a year, pretty happy. Almost no downtime to speak off as monitored by betterbeup and they keep me well informed of issues (Not like other hosts you have to *ask* why your sites are down). I don't do intensive BW stuff with them, mind, and I think there's an element of luck, some servers more stable than others, but I'm happy.

God damn, I think i'll get an account with them to host videos and whatnot. I see no reason not to.

for the price and bandwidth/space they're good. Although it seems like something is always breaking as far as database servers, email servers, etc. No big deal to me since I just use them for high bandwidth hosting and nothing to vital.
